Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Embracing the primal essence of the untamed wilderness, Wildheart Barbarians forge a deep connection with nature and its creatures. Through their attunement with the natural world, they channel the raw power of beasts, gaining supernatural abilities in battle. Masters of savagery, they charge fearlessly into combat, embodying the ferocity and resilience of the wild.

Wild Speech

3rd-level Wildheart feature

Starting at 3rd level, your wild nature makes you more adept in dealing with animals. You gain proficiency in animal handling. Additionally, you can cast the speak with animals spell. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a short rest.

Bestial Heart

3rd-level Wildheart feature

At 3rd level, when you adopt this path, your attunement with nature and its beasts inspires your rage, empowering you with supernatural might. Choose a Bestial Heart from the options below. The features granted by your Bestial Heart are only useable while raging. Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace your current Bestial Heart with a different one.

At your option, you also gain minor physical attributes that are reminiscent of your Bestial Heart. For example, if your Bestial Heart is the bear, you might be unusually hairy and thick-skinned, or if your Bestial Heart is the eagle, your eyes might turn bright yellow. Your Bestial Heart might be an animal related to those listed here but more appropriate to your homeland. For example, you could choose a hawk or vulture in place of an eagle.

Bear Heart

While you are raging, you have resistance to all damage except psychic damage and you gain access to the Unrelenting Beast feature.

Unrelenting Beast. As a bonus action you regain a number of hit points equal to 1d8 plus your barbarian level. You can use this feature once per rage.

Eagle Heart

While you are raging, other creatures have disadvantage on opportunity attacks made against you, you can use the Dash action as a bonus action on your turn, and you gain access to the Diving Strike feature.

Diving Strike. As an action, you leap towards a creature that is within range of your jump distance and make a melee weapon attack against that creature. On a hit, that creature takes additional bludgeoning damage equal to your Barbarian level and is knocked prone if it is Large or smaller. You land in an unoccupied space adjacent to the target regardless of if you hit or miss.

Elk Heart

While you are raging, your walking speed increases by 15 feet and you gain access to the Primal Stampede feature.

Primal Stampede. If you move at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hit it with a melee weapon attack on the same turn, you can immediately follow that attack with a bonus action attack against the target with the same weapon.

Tiger Heart

While you are raging, you can add 15 feet to your long jump distance and 5 feet to your high jump distance and you gain access to the Tiger's Bloodlust feature.

Tiger's Bloodlust. Once each turn when you make a melee weapon attack, you can make another melee weapon attack with the same weapon against a different creature that is within 5 feet of the original target and within range of your weapon.

Wolf Heart

While you are raging, your allies have advantage on melee attack rolls against any creature within 5 feet of you that is hostile to you and you gain access to the Menacing Howl feature.

Menacing Howl. As a bonus action, one creature of your choice within 30 feet of you that can hear you must succeed a Wisdom saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn.

Animalistic Aspect

6th-level Wildheart feature

At 6th level, you gain a magical benefit based on the animal of your choice. You can choose any animal, regardless of your Bestial Heart. You can choose an additional aspect at 10th level, and again at 14th level.

Bear Aspect

You gain the might of a bear. Your carrying capacity (including maximum load and maximum lift) is doubled, and you may maintain your rage without attacking or taking damage, as long as you are carrying, pushing, dragging or lifting objects in excess of 500 lb. Additionally, you are not slowed by pushing or dragging weight in excess of your carrying capacity.

Crocodile Aspect

You gain the swiftness of a crocodile. You have a swimming speed equal to your walking speed, can hold your breath for five times the normal duration, and you can move at full speed while grappling a creature.

Eagle Aspect

You gain the eyesight of an eagle. You gain darkvision out to a range of 120 feet. If you already have darkvision from your race, its range increases by 60 feet.

Additionally, you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks.

Elk Aspect

You gain the fleetness of an elk. Your walking speed increases by 5 feet. In addition, if you aren't incapacitated, the walking speed of any ally who starts their turn within 30 feet of you increases by 5 feet until the end of that turn.

Mongoose Aspect

You gain the survival instinct of a mongoose. At the start of your turn, if you are charmed, frightened, or poisoned, roll a d6. On a roll of 4-6, you enter a rage without expending a use of your rage feature. When you enter this rage, any of the listed conditions have their effects suspended for the duration of the rage.

Once you enter a rage this way, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.

Monkey Aspect

You gain the maneuverability of a monkey. You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed and can move through any creatures space as long as they are at least the same size as you.

Stallion Aspect

You gain the vigor of a stallion. Whenever you take the Dash action, you gain temporary hit points equal to twice your barbarian level.

Tiger Aspect

You gain the bloodlust of a tiger. You gain a bonus to attack rolls equal to your Strength modifier against creatures who suffer from one or more of the following conditions: blinded, frightened, grappled, poisoned, prone, or restrained.

Wolf Aspect

You gain the patience of a wolf. You and allies within 30 feet of you add your Dexterity modifier to all Dexterity (Stealth) checks.

Wolverine Aspect

You gain the ferocity of a wolverine. Once per turn when you deal damage to a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can cause the wound to hemorrhage. At the start of the affected creature's next turn, they take necrotic damage equal to their Constitution modifier (minimum 1) and have their movement speed halved until the end of the turn.

Natural Stride

10th-level Wildheart feature

At 10th level, you have adapted to the terrain of the wilds, knowing how to maintain your footing and chase your prey. Moving through difficult terrain costs you no extra movement.

Primal Frenzy

14th-level Wildheart feature

Starting at 14th level, you've learned to embrace the full force of the animal kingdom. Choose another Bestial Heart. You can only use this Bestial Heart when you enter your Primal Frenzy. You can exchange this Bestial Heart for another option at any time you could exchange your other Bestial Heart.

When you enter a rage, you can choose to expend an additional use of your rage feature to enter a Primal Frenzy. If you do, you gain the benefits of both of your Bestial Hearts for the duration of this rage.

When your Primal Frenzy ends, you suffer one level of exhaustion.
