Base Class: Monk
The Monastery of the Flowing River teaches it's disciples how best to redirect the flow of battle and to manipulate the current which all living things possess. If one is to adopt the traditions of the Flowing River they adopt the beliefs of only attacking those who would harm others, and will oftentimes reserve their full strength until they have attempted a more diplomatic way of resolving a situation.
An individual belonging to this Monastic Tradition gains the ability to absorb kinetic energy and turn it into one's own potential energy in order to unleash a flurry of deadly blows as well as pacifying attacks. They appear as a calm still body of water and once their target has made the mistake of underestimating them they become a roaring avalanche of water.
Rain Flows Down Mountain With Ease
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, the rain rejuvenates the current within you allowing you to let the waters flow forth with greater ease. From this point on whenever you would start combat and have 0 remaining Ki Points, you instead regain 1 expended Ki Point. Furthermore, the first time you would expend one Ki Point in combat you do not, however, each time after this, Ki Points are used as they would normally be.
This feature is triggered at the beginning of each combat, but can only be used a number of times equal to your Wisdom Modifier. A long rest will restore this feature.
Mountain Water Meets Dam
Starting at 6th level, you learn to store the flowing mountain waters within an inner dam so you may release a greater current at a later time. From this point on you gain the ability to alter the Patient Defense feature which is granted to all monks at 2nd level, this altered form of Patient Defense sacrifices the disadvantage which would be imposed on your foes so that you may steal from their inner river and feed your own. Once you use this form of Patient Defense every 10 points of damage you take restores 1 Ki Point up to the total amount available at your level.
This feature may be used any number of times as long as you have the Ki Points required to do so.
Roaring Current Batters Stone
Starting at 11th level, you unleash a roaring current from your inner dam battering your foes with an avalanche of water capable of corroding stone and sundering steel. From this point on as long as you have at least half of your available Ki Points Flurry of Blows now benefits from two of your Martial Arts die rather than the usual one, and you may expend an additional 2 Ki Points to add an additional unarmed strike to your Flurry of Blows, while under this benefit you may move up to 10ft to a new target for each unarmed strike after the default two without suffering opportunity attacks.
River Meets Ocean & Returns To Sky
Starting at 17th level, your inner current meets the vast body of water and begins the cycle anew, your understanding of your inner current and those around you becomes near limitless. From this point on when you incapacitate a foe, you pull from their inner ocean restoring 2 Ki Points to your own pool, Furthermore, if a foe is incapacitated by another while they are under the effects of your stunning strike you are restored 1 Ki point.
Once you reach 20th level Perfect Self is replaced by Boundless Ocean which restores your Ki Points to 10 if you would otherwise have 0 after rolling initiative.
