Base Class: Rogue
Duskshade rogues are fine combatant who developed a peculiar style of wielding blades and arrowed weapons with the help of the shadows that always envelop them, originally sworn to a covenant in a world far from knowledge, they now roam free of promises accompanied by rumors of people able to speak with their own shadows.
Duskshades are usually known as master infiltrators and spies, able to face perilous combat both from distance and engaged in melee, and able to vanish from thin air they are unparalled in their techniques and often believed to have a supernatural connection to the shadows with their ability to control their own to help them in battle. Duskshade organizations often use symbols to recognize themselves, in Arcadia their symbol is known only by a few and is usually in the form of a dagger or knife nocked in a drawn shortbow ready to strike.
Hands of Darkness
Starting at 3rd level your shadow begins taking physical form, tendrils and appendages of shadow spring from your body to help you in battle giving you the ability to wield weapons in a way that not even the greatest weapon masters can making so that you can now wield both a melee and a ranged weapon simultaneously in combat, you gain proficiencies with firearms (check with your DM how easy and obtainable firearms can be, if they are) and as long as you are wielding a finesse melee weapon you can wield a hand crossbow, a pistol or a shortbow in the other hand. When you wield a ranged weapon this way you don't need a free hand to load ammunitions in order to attack with the weapon and you ignore the two-handed property of the weapon if it has it.
In addition, if you are wielding both a melee and a ranged weapon since the beginning of your turn, you can use your bonus action to attack with one of those two weapon if you have not already attacked with that weapon during this turn.
Hunting Shadow
Starting at 3rd level your ability to strike an opponent weak spot gives you momentum in battle granting you the ability to run out of harm's way or to engage your opponents with incredible speed, whenever you deal Sneak Attack damage on your turn, you can apply one of these effect depending on the type of weapon you used with the attack:
- If you attacked with a melee weapon your movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity for the rest of the turn.
- If you attacked with a ranged weapon your walking speed is increased by 10ft until the end of the turn.
Shadowalk
Starting at 9th level Duskshades can summon their own shadow to cover them from sight in any situation for a short time and as long as they keep moving without engaging in combat. If you are not adjacent to an hostile creature, you can use the Hide action without the need of cover and while in an area of bright light. You can stay hidden in this way for up to 1 minute even if you end your turn while clearly visible, in an area of bright light or without being behind cover as long as you moved at least 10ft during your turn and you are not adjacent to an hostile creature. Moving while hidden this way can still make noise or leave tracks and might require to roll Dexterity (Stealth) checks to attempt to pass unnoticed. This effect ends and cannot be used in an area under the effect of the Daylight spell or similar and creatures with True Sight or that can sense with means other than sight can see through it unimpeded.
You can hide this way a number of times each long rest equal to your dexterity modifier and you regain one use of this feature everytime you complete a short rest.
Eyes of Dusk
Starting at 13th level your eyes take a dark shade of blue like the colours you can see east after sunset and you gain the ability to extinguish lights and flames enveloping them with your own shadow. You are immune to the Blinded condition, you can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, and you can see Invisible creatures as if they were not Invisible as long as they are in an area of dim light or darkness.
In addition you can use an action during your turn to extinguish any one source of light within 30ft of you. If the light was produced by mundane means or by a spell of 3rd level or lower the effect ends and any fire produced is extinguished up to an area of a 20ft cube. If the light was produced by a magical object, like an everburning torch, the lighting it produce is suppressed for the next 10 minutes and any fire it produced takes a white colour and remains harmful even if it doesn't shed light, if such an effect is still active after the 10 minutes have passed the object starts to produce light again. If the light was produced by a spell of 4th level or higher this feature has no effects on it.
Quickening Shadows
Starting at 17th level your shadow starts to fully manifest as material and dances around you like a shadowy figure that increase your agility in battle acting on your behalf with a single tought, you gain an additional bonus action you can spend on each of your turns, this additional bonus action can only be used to take one of your Cunning Action options or to use the bonus action granted by your Hands of Darkness feature.
