Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Rather than devoting to further study into the depths of their magical talents, or specialization within the arts of a particular school, the Arcane Skirmisher sought training in the ways of martial combat to round out their abilities in battle. Often serving as the immediate defense of War Mages and serving as potent adventuring companions, these weapon-wielding magi may not be any more inherently durable than their more scholastically inclined brethren, but their abilities to fend for themselves in a fight serve them well none the less. The Arcane Skirmisher gains the following features:

Combat Training. Beginning at 2nd level, the Arcane Skirmisher has trained sufficiently in the ways of combat to become proficient with light armor, all simple weapons, and all martial weapons. Additionally, they gain proficiency in Strength saving throws.

Spellstrike. Beginning at 2nd level, when casting a spell that makes a spell attack roll, you may make a melee or ranged attack with any weapon (or an unarmed attack) instead of a spell attack roll. If you do this, the spell's effects are applied through the weapon attack, causing both the weapon attack and the spell's effects to apply on a successful hit with the weapon attack.

Warcasting Training. Beginning at 6th level, you gain proficiency in medium armor and shields, and gain the warcaster feat as a bonus feat.

Arcane Edge. Beginning at 10th level, the Arcane Skirmisher has trained their martial talents to such a point that they gain an extra attack. In addition, they have trained their Spell Strike to keep pace, allowing them to cast Spell strike as part of making two attacks, allowing them to apply a cast spell's effects with each attack they make on their turn.

Arcane Body. At 14th level, the Arcane Skirmisher's enhancement of their martial abilities has infused into their very body. They gain 1 additional hit point per level plus an additional number of hit points equal to their Intelligence modifier and proficiency in Constitution Saving Throws.

Combat Training

Beginning at 2nd level, the Arcane Skirmisher has trained sufficiently in the ways of combat to become proficient with light armor, all simple weapons, and all martial weapons. Additionally, through training their body as a host to their magic in a more martial sense, the Arcane Skirmisher gains proficiency in Strength saving throws from their arcane energies flowing through them.

Spellstrike

Starting at 2nd level, your unique blend of martial and magical training has enabled you to blend the two into a unique fighting style. This allows you access to the unique spellstrike ability:

Spellstrike. When casting a spell that makes a spell attack roll, you may make a melee or ranged attack with any weapon (or an unarmed attack) instead of a spell attack roll. If you do this, the spell's effects are applied through the weapon attack, causing both the weapon attack and the spell's effects to apply on a successful hit with the weapon attack.

Warcasting Training

Starting at 6th level, your blending of martial and magical talents has yielded even further benefits. You gain proficiency with medium armor and shields, and gain the warcaster feat as a bonus feat.

Arcane Edge

Beginning at 10th level, the Arcane Skirmisher has trained their martial talents to such a point that they gain an extra attack. In addition, they have trained their Spell Strike to keep pace, allowing them to cast Spell strike as part of making two attacks, allowing them to apply the effects of a spell cast with Spell Strike with each attack they make on their turn.

Arcane Body

At 14th level, your Arcane enhancement of martial abilities has infused into your very body. You gain 1 additional hit point per level plus an additional number of hit points equal to your Intelligence modifier and proficiency in Constitution Saving Throws.
