Monk
Base Class: Monk

One of the Five Animals of martial arts, the Dragon’s Breath mixes a variety of different disciplines and adjusting them to suit its own overall style. With a particular emphasis on dodging then striking, Dragon’s Breath particularly excels at striking with utmost efficacy when the time is right. Using their ki to cause small eruptions around them as they enter their reactive stance, the Dragon’s Breath hisses as they strike, momentarily distracting the target and granting them the opportunity they need. Even when they are reacting, their accuracy and power can easily overwhelm their opponent. The main mantra of the Dragon’s Breath is to “ride the wind”, which is to follow rather than lead, allow your opponent to make mistakes before you react, don’t risk your own defenses for an impactless attack.

Stance Stomp

Starting at 3rd level, when you adjust yourself into a defensive stance, you stomp into the stance. When you take the dodge action, you can spend up to 3 ki points to cause all creatures within 5 ft. of you to make Constitution saving throws. On a failure, the creatures take 1d6 thunder damage for each ki point spent. This can be used in conjunction with Patient Defense.

Ride the Wind

From 3rd level, your defensive stance allows you to react offensively as well as defensively. During the turn after you use the dodge action, if a creature misses you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to make an unarmed strike on the creature.

Dragon Hiss

Starting at 6th level, you begin to inhale and exhale with deliberate purpose to enhance your strikes. When you take the attack action, you can spend 1 ki point to grant yourself advantage on all the attacks in that action.

Talon Fist

Starting from 11th level, you have learnt to enhance your strikes using your whole body. As a bonus action, you can spend up to 3 ki points to grant your unarmed strikes a bonus to attack and damage rolls. The bonus equals the number of ki points you spent. This bonus lasts for 1 minute or until you use this feature again.

Fluid Stance

Starting at 17th level, your patience in battle allows you to capitalise on your enemy’s mistakes, allowing for more potent strikes on the openings in your opponent’s defenses. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike outside of your own turn, as with an opportunity attack, Ride the Wind attack, or Sentinel attack, you can spend 1 ki point to deal bonus force damage equal to your Martial Arts die.
