Base Class: Wizard
Some say that the nerds of long ago could decipher all magic with glowing runes inscribed upon copper and gold. They made their own magic, non sensical and overly complex, building upon each other's work until they became too powerful, and were struck down by the Clerics of the Sun Goddess.
Copy Paste
Starting at 2nd level, when you copy a spell into your spellbook, you can expend a spell slot to copy it as an action, and with zero gold cost. The level of spell slot you use must be equal to or greater than the level of the spell.
Hidden Typo
As an action, you can cause the magical energy of one creature you can see to be disrupted by a minor error.
Make a spell attack against the target's passive perception. If you win:
- The next time they attempt to cast a spell by any means, it fails. Any charges or spell slots used to cast it are not expended.
- Instead, roll on the wild magic table. The resulting effect occurs, treating the target as the spellcaster
Assembly
Starting at 6th level, when you prepare a spell of 1st level or higher from your spell book you can choose to prepare it in it's most essential parts. This reduces the power and cost of casting it, and has the following effects:
- It is prepared as a spell of one level lower; it is treated as such by abilities and requires that level of spell slot. If this reduces the level to 0, it requires no spell slot just as cantrips
- It cannot be upcast
- It's power is reduced by either one assembler method, or two refactor methods. Methods that don't apply to that specific spell cannot be used for it.
- Assembler Methods:
- If the spell deals or heals at least 8 damage per level to a single target, or at least 5 damage per level to multiple targets, halve the damage rounded down.
- Usually this just means halving the number of damage dice. If there's an odd number, try using combinations of dice to approximate
- Healing spells cannot be level 0
- If the spell has a limit of hit points for targets, half the maximum rounded down
- If the spell multiplies or divides a value such as perceived monetary value or jump distance by some amount, halve the multiplier.
- If the spell has a duration of 1 minute or longer and does not require concentration, it now requires concentration
- If the spell deals or heals at least 8 damage per level to a single target, or at least 5 damage per level to multiple targets, halve the damage rounded down.
- Refactor Methods:
- Reduce the spell's damage or healing by 1d8 per level for single target, 1d6 for multiple targets
- If the dice line up, reduce the amount, otherwise subtract the values
- If the spell has a range of 100ft or greater, reduce the range to 30ft
- If the spell covers an area, halve the greatest dimension rounded down
- If the spell has a duration of 1 minute or longer, halve the duration rounded down
- Reduce the spell's damage or healing by 1d8 per level for single target, 1d6 for multiple targets
Hacker
Starting at 10th level, when you roll on the wild magic table due to the Hidden Typo ability, you may roll twice and choose one or neither effect.
Administrator
Control
You always have the Identify and Command spells prepared, and they do not count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. You can cast them at their lowest level without expending a spell slot. Additionally, you can cast them without any somatic, verbal or material components, even when upcast.
Alt
You are immune to Anti-magic Field, Dispel Magic, Counterspell and similar effects, magical or otherwise.
Delete
You always have the Dispel Magic and Counterspell spells prepared, and they do not count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. You can cast them without any somatic, verbal or material components. You can cast them at their lowest level without expending a spell slot once each, and cannot do so again until you complete a short or long rest.
