Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Silken Weave observe the workings of nature's most patient hunter, and attempt to emulate their kind through a meticulously practiced method of weaving their Ki into a tangible form. Their Ki Silk is capable of binding and controlling their enemies, as well as protecting the user and their allies.

Ki Weaving

Silken Lash

You may spend 1 Ki point and use a bonus action to make a ranged spell attack with a range of 60 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is force, and its damage die is a d4. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table. An enemy hit by this attack is knocked prone, considered Incapacitated, and pulled 15 feet toward you. It can attempt a Strength (Athletics) check against your Ki save DC at the end of each of its turns to end this effect on a success. Alternatively, one of its allies can use an action on their turn to end this effect. No check is required when ending the effect in this way. While an enemy is Incapacitated in this way you may use a bonus action on subsequent turns to pull that enemy an additional 15 feet toward you. You may choose to end this effect on your turn without spending an action.

You may not use Flurry of Blows while this effect is active. This restriction is removed while the Arachnid Mantle feature is active.

 Spinner’s Defense

When using the Dodge action or your Patient Defense feature, you may choose to spend an additional Ki point to create a near invisible barrier of Ki around you. This barrier acts as three-quarters cover for you until the end of your next turn.

You may also spend one hour to create a much larger variation of the barrier around yourself and up to 8 others. This barrier can be made without expending a Ki point and lasts for 10 hours or until you move more than 15 feet away from it.

Ki Venom

Toxic Ki

Your strike’s damage type becomes poison and the target must make a Constitution saving throw against your Ki save DC. On a failed save the target is inflicted with the Poisoned condition for 1 minute.

Chilling Ki

Your strike’s damage becomes cold and the target must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Ki save DC. On a failed save the target is inflicted with the effects of the Slow spell for 1 minute.

Melting Ki

Your strike’s damage becomes acid and the target must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Ki save DC. On a failed save the target becomes Frightened of you and takes 1d6 psychic damage at the start of its turns for 1 minute.

Constant Weaving

At 11 level, your continued practice with Ki Weaving has made the art almost second nature to you. Your Ki Silk constantly flows through the air 15 feet around you, granting you Truesight in that area. You can spend a Ki point as an action to consciously expand this space to 30 feet for 10 minutes.

In addition, your Silken Lash and Spinner’s Defense features gain the following improvements:

-Silken Lash can now be used up to a range of 120 feet and can pull the target 30 feet per turn.

-Spinner’s Defense now reduces damage from ranged attacks by an amount equal to your Monk level/2 rounded down while active.

-Spinner’s Defense’s larger barrier now takes only 30 minutes to create.

Arachnid Mantle

At 17 level, your attempts to emulate spiders have led you to create your most powerful technique, the Arachnid Mantle. Your Ki Silk swirls around you, forming into a cloak of a spider’s visage, lifting you off the ground, and granting you 4 additional arms. These arms are not capable of wielding weapons. While your Mantle is active you gain the following benefits:

-Your Flurry of Blows feature allows you to make up to 6 unarmed strikes. The number of strikes made decreases by 1 for each Silken Lash active.

-You may choose up to 4 targets for your Silken Lash feature.

-Your Spinner’s Defense feature is constantly active.

-Your unarmed strikes deal your choice of bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage.

-You can move unhindered through nonmagical terrain.

-Your climbing speed is equal to your walking speed.

You may activate your Mantle by spending 4 Ki points as an action, and it remains active until you choose to end it, you are Incapacitated, or 1 minute has passed.
