Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks that follow the Way of the Weave Runner are able to harmonize the spiritual energy of the Ki and the arcane flow of magic into their bodies. Instead of transforming the threads of magical essence into spells, these monks are able to channel the raw magic of the Weave. Many of such monks that chose to reconcile their souls with the Weave are worshippers of Mystra. Regardless, those who follow such a path see the world in a bigger picture, and gaze upon the Weave in search of either a greater understanding of the workings of the multiverse or a spiritual evolution through connection with magic in its purest form.

Arcane Sense

At 3rd level, your harmony with the Weave allows you to use it as a sixth sense in order to detect arcane presence. As an action, you gain the ability to sense any spell and magic item within 50 feet of you not behind total cover. You can do so a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, recovering all uses after a long rest.

Additionally, you also gain proficiency with the arcana skill if you don't have it already.

Weave Run

At 3rd level, you learn how to temporarily merge your body with the Weave. When you take the Attack action, you can teleport to an unoccupied space within 30 ft of you that you can see. Additionally, you can also make a melee weapon attack against a creature that is within 5ft of that space. You can use this ability once per turn.

Weave Run range increases by 10ft  at 7th, 13th and 18th level.

Threads of Instability

At 6th level, your presence alters the flow of the Weave Around you. Whenever you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack and that target is concentrating on a spell, the target must succeed on a Concentration saving throw against your Ki save DC or lose concentration on that spell.

Vanishing Strike

At 6th level, when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can spend 1 ki point to attempt a vanishing strike. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Ki save DC, or be teleported to an unoccupied space of your choice that you can see within the range of your Weave Run. The chosen space must be on a surface or in a liquid that can support the target without the target having to squeeze.

Refined Channeling

At 11th level, you now make two unarmed strikes as part of the weave run action. Additionally, a target hit by a Weave Run attack action has disadvantage on saving throws against Vanishing Strike and Concentration saving throws until the end of your next turn.

Soul of Silver Fire

At 17th level, you have mastered the Weave and can manifest its hidden powers. As a bonus action, you can spend 5 ki points in order to envelop your body with bright silver flames. You can do this once per long rest. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits::

  • You have advantage on saving throws against spells or other magical effects;
  • Whenever you fail a saving throw against a spell or other magical effect, you can choose to succeed instead. You can do this once per long rest;
  • You can cast Dispel Magic at 3rd level without expending spell slots, with a range of touch.
