Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

The Witch of Izalith, the mother of "The Witches of Chaos," whom were thought to be her biological children. Giving pieces of her soul to her children, they joined in the war against the dragons, and used their power to weave great firestorms to defeat them. In response to the fading of the First Flame, she attempted to use her soul to generate a new one, believing that it could replace the first when it faded. To this end, she generated a new flame in Izalith, known as the Flame of Chaos. Tangled by the hands of witches, none were able to calm the flame, and the Witch of Izalith was killed when it grew too fierce. Using her soul to fuel itself, it spread throughout Izalith, killing many of the citizens. The flame used her soul to forge a parody of life itself, and birthed flaming creatures that would become known as demons. Many who were taken by the Chaos Flame were transformed into demons of a similar but varied nature, and most of her children were taken as well. Her only son became a sorrowful, pustulating creature of Chaos Flame, while two of her daughters managed to partially escape: Quelaag and Quelaag's Sister. Their lower bodies morphed into demonic spiders, but from the waist up they were spared, and Quelana managed to escape completely.

After a certain period, Quelana encountered a human named Salaman, who was able to perceive her form despite her nature. In virtue of this, she removed his natural human fear of flame, and taught him a method by which he could hope to control the uncontrollable power of fire. The teaching was successful and her pupils became the first pyromancer, and Quelana became the mother of Pyromancy. The pyromancies that were learned by Salaman manipulated lava, as they were learned from a Daughter of Chaos, but he would instead teach his students other methods of flame manipulation. His most accomplished pupil was Carmina, who was among the first to take pyromancy into fields that had almost absolutely nothing to do with flame, but rather life. Now most pyromancers, those that can manipulate both life and heat, reside within the Great Swamp and revere the Witch of Izalith and her children as their gods.

Innate Fear

When you choose this archetype at 1st level, you gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill if you don’t already have it. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses that proficiency.

Additionally, you learn the produce flame cantrip and the control flames cantrip, which count as sorcerer cantrips for you.

Ashen One

Your intimate knowledge of the fire burning within allows you to choose the effect of your fire based spells to deal either fire or necrotic damage, or to spread the warmth of your flames and cause them to heal.  Once the spell has been cast, it remains of that type until it is recast. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 sorcery point per spell level to cause a spell that deals fire damage and consumes a spell slot to instead heal for half of the damage it would have caused. A spell modified in this way cannot be affected by metamagic.

Additionally, parts of your skin are covered by a thin layer of hardened ashen skin, leaving you more resilient. When you aren’t wearing armor, your AC equals 13 + your Dexterity modifier.

Born in Shadows and Flame

Your flames now pool where they land, and your darkened fire saps the stamina from your enemies. If your spells either make a spell attack or require a DEX save and are fire, they leave lava pools that burn until the end of your next turn. At the end of a creature's turn, if they are in the area of effect, they take fire damage. (1d6 for 1st level, 1d8 for third level, 1d12 for fifth level, 2d8 for seventh level, and 2d10 for ninth level.)

Additionally, if your spells either make a spell attack or require a DEX save and are necrotic, their speed is reduced by half until the end of their next turn.

Gift of Flame

When you cast a fire spell of 5th level or above, 3 nearby ally's weapons are imbued with fire, causing 1d10 additional fire damage on their next hit. When you cast a necrotic imbued fire spell of 5th level or above, 3 nearby ally's weapons are imbued with darkness, causing 1d10 additional necrotic damage on their next hit. When you use a 5th level or higher spell slot to heal, 3 allies within 30ft are healed for 2d4.

Firekeeper

If you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you are instead reduced to one hit point and gain half your maximum health in temporary hit points. Then, you have one of two options:

If the last spell you cast was used to harm, Profaned Flame triggers: You are resistant to all damage except radiant, and you become vulnerable to radiant damage. You gain devil's sight and blind sight up to 60 feet, and generate black flames that consume light in a 60 foot radius lasting for 1 minute. Each creature of your choice within the black flames must make a wisdom saving throw, or be frightened of you for a minute. The flames reduces any bright light in a 60-foot radius around you to dim light, and any light within 30 feet around you to darkness. Whenever an enemy that is frightened by you starts its turn in the aura, it takes 4d10 necrotic damage. Additionally, any creature that can't see you and is frightened of you is overcome with shaking. The creature has disadvantage on Dexterity checks, Dexterity saving throws, and attack rolls that use Dexterity.

If the last spell you cast was used to heal, Sacred Flame triggers: You are resistant to all damage except necrotic, and you become vulnerable to necrotic damage. A wave of harmless fire spreads from you for 60 feet, creating bright light and removing magical darkness within it. All allies within the 60 feet act as if they are under the influence of bless. All of your healing for the next minute is maxed, but you cannot benefit from your own healing.

When the effect ends, you are reduced back to 0 hit points, but are considered stable. Once triggered, you can’t use this feature again for 7 days.
