Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Quick wit, mischievous charm, and a flair for the dramatic define the Jester Rogue. Masters of deception and illusion, these rogues are not just skilled in the art of the blade, but also in the art of entertainment. They weave their way through the world with a grin on their face and a trick up their sleeve, delighting in chaos and confusion.

Jesters Trickery

At 3rd level, a Jester Rogue gains access to a repertoire of playful and deceptive abilities, including their trademark card tricks. They can use their cunning to entertain, distract, and confound their foes. This includes:

Fool's Gambit: Once per short rest, the Jester can choose to reroll any failed skill check or saving throw, but they must accept the second result, regardless of outcome.

Jester's Flourish: The Jester can add their Charisma modifier to their initiative rolls, reflecting their ability to command attention and seize the spotlight.

Laughing Shadows: By spending a bonus action and expending a use of their Sneak Attack, the Jester can create illusory duplicates of themselves, granting advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks until the end of their next turn.

Card Trickery: The Jester is proficient with playing cards as improvised weapons, and they can perform sleight of hand tricks with them. As an action, they can make a ranged attack with a thrown card, using their Dexterity modifier for the attack roll and dealing 1d4 slashing damage on a hit.

Entertainers Arsenal

Starting at 9th level, the Jester Rogue gains access to a set of performance-themed tools and tricks, including:

Trickster's Tools: The Jester gains proficiency with disguise kits, musical instruments, and one type of gaming set, allowing them to blend seamlessly into any crowd and entertain with ease.

Pantomime's Grace: Once per long rest, the Jester can use their reaction to reduce damage from an attack they can see by an amount equal to their Charisma modifier + their proficiency bonus, as they gracefully dodge and weave out of harm's way.

Carnival of Chaos

At 13th level, the Jester Rogue's mastery of deception reaches its peak. They gain access to powerful abilities that sow confusion and disorder among their enemies:

Chaos Mirage: As an action, the Jester can create an illusory spectacle that affects a 30-foot radius centered on themselves. Creatures of their choice within the area must make a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed or frightened (Jester's choice) until the end of their next turn.

Fool's Finesse: The Jester can add their Charisma modifier to the damage of their Sneak Attack once per turn, reflecting their ability to dazzle and confound their enemies with theatrical flair.

Master of Mirth

Upon reaching 17th level, the Jester Rogue becomes a true maestro of mischief and mayhem. They gain the following abilities:

Eternal Jest: The Jester gains advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened, reflecting their resilience in the face of psychological manipulation.

Trickster's Gambit: Once per long rest, the Jester can weave a web of illusion and deception so convincing that they become momentarily intangible. As a reaction to being targeted by an attack or spell, they can impose disadvantage on the triggering attack or spell, causing it to pass harmlessly through illusory images of themselves.
