Base Class: Druid
Whereas druids of circles of the land, stars and wildfire tend to be more scholarly, druids of the circle of the moon sit alongside those of the circle of spores as warriors, wardens of the wild. Those of this circle, more specifically, commune with the moon, attuning to its ancient and inscrutable magic, studying its long recorded history of affecting magic, creating radiance and restoration, and birthing shapechangers and lycanthropes.
These druids, as such, tend to be nomadic, fierce guardians of the wilds that only encounter those of their same circle in large gatherings under the full moon. Changeable as the moon they’ve gained an understanding for, druids of this circle might prowl as a great cat one night, soar over the treetops as an eagle the next day, and crash through the undergrowth in bear form to drive off a trespassing monster. The wild is in this druid's moonlit blood.
Circle Spells
When you join this circle at 2nd level, you have communed and attuned with the moon, studying it and its eerie magic. Your link with it grants you access to some spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Circle of the Moon Spells table.
Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the Druid Spell List, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Moonlit Wild Shape
When you choose this circle at 2nd level, your training under the moon has enhanced your Wild Shape in the following ways:
- You can use your Wild Shape on your turn as a bonus action, rather than as an action.
- While you are in beast form, you can use a bonus action to expend one spell slot to regain 1d12 hit points per level of the spell slot expended. If you are at your hit point maximum, you instead gain the same amount of temporary hit points.
- You can cast your Circle spells while in your beast shape, as well as perform the verbal and somatic components for your Circle spells while in your beast shape.
- You can use your Wild Shape to transform into a beast with a challenge rating as high as your druid level divided by 4, rounded down (at 2nd level this is 1/2, at 4th level this is 1, at 8th this is 2, at 12th this is 3, at 16th this is 4, and at 20th this is 5).
Lunar Refinement
Starting at 6th level, your training under the moon has enhanced your Wild Shape in more ways than before:
- You can make natural weapon attacks while in your beast form as if they were a spell attack, using your spellcasting modifier to hit modifier rather than using the beast’s to hit modifier.
- Your AC while in your beast form equals either the beast’s AC, or 12 + your proficiency bonus, whichever is highest.
- Your attacks in beast form count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical damage.
- When you first enter your Wildshape, you gain temporary hit points equal to your druid level.
Aspect of Moonlight
Starting at 10th level, you’ve uncovered further secrets of the moon’s power, causing you to gain the following benefits.
- The first time each turn that you deal damage with your natural attacks while in beast form deals additional damage equal to a number of d10s equal to 1 + half your proficiency bonus (rounded down).
- Each of your natural attacks while in beast form can deal its normal damage type or radiant damage. You choose each time you hit with those attacks.
- When you first enter your beast form, you can choose to be Large, regardless of the beast's size.
- When you first enter your beast form, you can choose to emit moonlight, sheedding bright light for 5 feet around you and dim light for an additional 20 feet.
- You can cast the alter self spell at will, without expending a spell slot.
Lunar Step
By the time you've reached 14th level, you’ve learnt to harness the moon’s magic in more ways than shapeshifting, learning to teleport and reappearing in a burst of moonlight. As a bonus action, which you can take while you’re in beast form, you teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. When you do, you have advantage on all attacks you make before the beginning of your next turn, and roll a number of d4s equal to your proficiency bonus. You and allied creatures within 10 feet of you after the teleport regain that many hit points, or temporary hit points if they are at their hit point maximum; and hostile creatures within 10 feet of you take that much damage.
In addition, you gain temporary hit points equal to your druid level, and you can use this feature thrice, regaining all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.
