The Glyphae Scriptor is a practitioner of ancient glyphic magic, delving into the intricacies of inscribing potent spells onto various surfaces. Through diligent study and practice, they wield the power of glyphs with precision and finesse, shaping the flow of magic to their will.

As a Glyphae Scriptor advances in level, they unlock deeper insights into glyphic magic, gaining the ability to inscribe more powerful glyphs and manipulate magical energies with greater proficiency. Through their Glyph Codex, they can access a wide array of spells and unleash their magical effects with strategic precision.

At the pinnacle of their mastery, Glyphae Scriptor attains a profound connection to the essence of glyphic magic, enabling them to activate glyphs with incredible speed and perform rituals to enhance the potency of their Glyph Codex. This unparalleled control over glyphic magic sets them apart as masters of the ancient art, wielding their power with finesse and precision on the battlefield and beyond.

Glyph Inscription

At 2nd level, you gain the ability to inscribe glyphs imbued with magical spells. You have a special book, known as your Glyph Codex, in which you record these glyphs. The Glyph Codex can contain a number of glyphs equal to twice your available spell slots. Each glyph represents a spell from the wizard spell list of a level for which you have spell slots. The time required to inscribe a glyph is equal to 5 minutes multiplied by the spell's level, and the process expends a spell slot equal to the spell's level. Once inscribed, the glyph remains inert until activated.

The Glyph Codex can also be a sack full of inscribed stones or they can be in reach of your hand on your body or what ever your imagination can think of and your dm allowes.

Glyph Casting

Beginning at 2nd level, you can use your action to activate a glyph you have inscribed from your Glyph Codex, causing the spell within to take effect. The glyph is destroyed in the process. You can activate an unlimited number of glyphs as long as you have glyphs remaining. This completly replaces your normal spell casting.

Arcane Insight

At 2nd level, the Arcane Inscriber gains proficiency in Arcana, reflecting their deep understanding of arcane magic and enhancing their ability to recognize, interpret, and utilize arcane knowledge.

Glyph Extension

At 6th level, you gain the ability to extend the power of your glyphs placed on willing creatures. As an action, you can place a glyph from your Glyph Codex onto a willing creature within 5 feet of you. You specify a trigger condition for the glyph to activate, similar to the ready action. When the trigger occurs, the glyph's spell takes effect, and the glyph is destroyed. Unused glyphs placed on creatures fade away after 12 hours or when you finish a long rest. Once the spell ends, the glyph dissipates harmlessly.

Glyph Augmentation

Upon reaching 10th level, you gain the ability to enhance the power and versatility of your glyphs further. When you activate a glyph, you can choose one or more of the following additional effects, each of which requires expending one Glyphic Essence:

  • The spell's duration is doubled.
  • The spell's area of effect is increased by 50%.
  • The spell's range is doubled.
  • The spell's damage is maximized.
  • The spell's saving throw DC increases by 2.

You have a pool of Glyphic Essence equal to half your wizard's level plus your spellcasting modifier. This pool replenishes after finishing a long rest.

Glyph Empowerment

At 14th level, you unlock the ability to infuse your glyphs with potent energy, significantly enhancing their effects. Twice per long rest, when you activate a glyph, you can empower it. The empowered glyph's spell gains one the following benefits:

  • It is treated as if cast using a spell slot two level higher than the original spell's level.
  • If the spell requires an attack roll, it gains advantage on the roll.
  • If the spell requires a saving throw, the DC increases by 6.
  • Any damage dealt by the spell ignores resistance and treats immunity as resistance.
