Monk
Base Class: Monk

The kitsune are sacred fox spirits, known for their ability to summon blue flames, their charming behavior, and their profound wiseness. Some are honorable servants of the gods of the East, some are playful magical tricksters, and some take human form in order to live among the mortals. Some monasteries worship those spirits, and their training is focused on emulating the powers of the kitsune.

Bonus Proficiencies

Starting at 3rd level, you can add your Wisdom Modifier to your Charisma(persuasion), Charisma(deception), and Intelligence(nature) skills.

Foxfire

You gain the ability to produce small spheres of ethereal blue flames. These are known as Kitsunebi or Foxfire. They produce the same amount of light as a torch (20ft bright light and 20ft dim light) and can be used as reliable sources of guidance for travelers.

As an action, you can light up your Foxfire for one hour. A single Foxfire is tiny in size and floats next to you in your space and can be moved up to 20 feet with no action required. While your Foxfire is lit, you gain advantage on survival checks when navigating areas without a distinct path, such as thick forests, underground mines, or dense snowstorms. You must have ground beneath your feet in order for this benefit to occur.

You can produce a number of Foxfire spheres equal to your Wisdom modifier and each must be within 20ft of you or else it disappears.

Fox Cunning

When you reach 6th level, you have learned the ways of your fox spirits. Whenever a creature misses an attack roll against you, you can use your reaction to spend 1 Ki Point and choose to retaliate with an unarmed strike against the creature targeting you or disengage with half of your movement speed.

Kitsune Possession

When you reach 11th level, you gain the ability to let the spirits of the kitsune and nogitsune possess your body for a short period of time, allowing you to perform feats of incredible strength. This possession is called Kitsunetsuki (meaning "possessed by a kitsune").

As an action, you can enter the Kitsunetsuki state. Your hands become claws and are counted as natural weapons, dealing slashing damage equal to your martial arts dice along with an additional 1d4 fire damage. Your unarmed strikes with your Kitsunetsuki state's natural weapons are counted as magical weapons.

The possession lasts for one minute and you can use this feature once per long rest.

Nogitsune Manifestation

When you reach 17th level, you gain the ability to manifest your kitsunetsuki in a more permanent way. Your Kitsune Possession lasts for one hour and while you are in that form, you can use a Bonus Action to grant yourself 2d6 temporary hit points.

You can grant yourself temporary hit points once per short rest.
