Base Class: Cleric
Overview
The Warped Will Domain represents a dark and corrupt path a cleric may take, diverging from their holy duties and embracing unholy interpretations of their deity's will, or succumbing to undeath. This subclass signifies a cleric’s descent into a lich, blending divine power with necromantic prowess. This path offers unique abilities and spells that reflect their transformation and control over the undead.
Features
-
Dark Interpretation: As clerics of the Warped Will Domain, their once pure intentions become tainted. They believe in following their gods will, but bend their gods will to a different perspectives leading to extreme measures and moral decay. An example is that if a god doesn't believe in killing then having something else do the killing is ok.
-
Undead Transformation: A Warped Will Domain cleric might also experience physical transformation, turning into an undead being themselves. This grants them resistance to necrotic damage, immunity to poison, and other physical undead traits as they progress.
-
Loss of "Destroy Undead": The cleric's connection to undeath replaces their ability to destroy undead. Instead, they gain the power to command and create undead more effectively.
-
"Undead Commander" Spell: This homebrew spell, replacing the standard "Destroy Undead" feature, allows the cleric to summon and command undead minions as if using the "Find Familiar" spell. These undead serve the cleric loyally, providing both offensive and defensive support.
Abilities and Spells
-
Undead Commander (Spell): At 3rd level, the cleric can cast "Undead Commander," allowing them to summon undead creatures similar to how a wizard summons familiars. These undead are under the cleric's control and can perform various tasks, including combat roles.
-
Corrupting Touch: Starting at 7th level, the cleric can infuse their melee attacks with necrotic energy, dealing additional necrotic damage.
-
Twisted Blessing: At 9th level, the cleric can grant temporary hit points to themselves and their allies through their corrupted following of their god.
-
Unholy Resilience: At 13th level, the cleric gains immunity to necrotic damage and advantage on saving throws against physic dammage.
-
Necrotic Aura: At 15th level, the cleric exudes an aura of necrotic energy, dealing damage to nearby enemies and healing allied undead within the aura’s range.
Grave Ward
Grave Ward
Your mastery over death allows you to create a protective barrier using the energy of the fallen. When a creature within 30 feet of you (including yourself) drops to 0 hit points but is not killed outright, you can use your reaction to expend one use of your Reaper's Touch to create a ward around the creature.
Effect:
- The creature drops to 1 hit point instead of 0.
- Additionally, the creature gains resistance to all damage until the start of its next turn.
