Base Class: Paladin
A paladin who is called to swear an oath to a dragon is one who would bind their soul to the heart of a dragon, eventually becoming that dragon's rider and companion. A paladin of this caliber would be a person of loyalty, reverence, and trust, no matter what alignment their soul must follow. Above all this, however, their soul must mirror that of the dragon that calls to them.
Tenets of the Dragons
Each paladin's Oath is as unique as the dragons they serve but a few basic tenets exist across the spectrum of metallic, gem or chromatic dragons.
Unending Devotion --- Though a paladin is free to follow their own path, the dragon who has chosen them will require fealty above all else. Some more powerful dragons may go so far as to lay claim over the descendants of those champions who failed in their duties.
Strength in Unity --- The wolf who is without a pack is the first to fall. When you face the terrible forces of darkness and chaos, only those who stand with others can stand against them and prevail. Search out strong allies wherever you can find them. Strength is in numbers.
Loyalty unto Death --- Once trust has been given, it must be forever kept. To abandon those who trust in you, to betray one’s Oath, is the most horrific act you can think of. It will always be better to die standing with honor alongside your allies than to flee alone and live as a coward.
Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following three Channel Divinity options.
Winged Majesty. As an action, large dragon wings stretch out from your back and you gain a fly speed equal to your walking speed for one hour, using your Channel Divinity. You can end this effect on your turn as an action. If you fall unconscious, this effect ends.
Dragon's Breath. As an action using your Channel Divinity, you can expel the breath of your dragon's type. The reach of this attack is 20 feet. Everyone in the reach and direction of this breath must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 30 (5d8) damage on a failed saving throw or half as much on a successful one.
Draconic Fury. As an action, you present your holy symbol and speak a prayer in the tongue of the ancient wyrms, using your Channel Divinity. For one minute, your walking speed is doubled and your AC increases by +2. This action can ONLY be used to take the Attack (one weapon attack only) or Dash action toward an enemy you can see.
