Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins who swear the Oath of the Boundless are dedicated to protecting those who traverse the myriad planes of existence and to safeguarding the pursuit of arcane knowledge. These paladins act as guardians and guides, ensuring safe passage through the perilous pathways between realms. They are committed to the belief that knowledge is a universal right and that the mysteries of the multiverse should be explored and understood, not hoarded or hidden. To this end, they seek to uncover and protect ancient secrets, assisting scholars, mages, and adventurers who delve into the unknown. Boundless paladins are also vigilant against planar threats, standing as stalwart defenders against incursions from malevolent entities that seek to exploit the fabric of reality. Their ultimate goal is to maintain the delicate balance between worlds, fostering harmony and understanding across the planes.

The tenets of the Oath of the Voyager emphasize exploration, protection, and the pursuit of knowledge.

  • Safeguard the Journey. Protect travelers and ensure their safe passage through dangerous realms.

  • Pursue Knowledge. Seek out and protect arcane lore, assisting those who pursue the mysteries of the multiverse.

  • Guard the Gateways. Defend the portals and passages between planes, preventing their misuse by those who would do harm.

  • Freedom from Fate. Break free from the chains of predestination. Seek your own path and defy the constraints that once bound you.

Channel Divinity

3rd-level Oath of the Voyager feature.

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Temporal Repose. As an action, a glowing aura surrounds you in a 15-foot radius, enveloping all friendlies. Each creature affected can immediately spend an unspent Hit Dice to regain hit points equal to the roll plus their Constitution modifier. Additionally, the creature gains temporary hit points equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1) until the start of your next turn. The effect lasts one minute.

Planar Intercession. As a reaction, you can use your Channel Divinity to briefly step through the the planes. You can swap places with an ally up to 30 feet away that you can see when they are hit by a melee attack. When you swap places, you take half damage in their place and may make an attack of your own with advantage.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of the Boundless Spells

Aura of Passage

7th-level Oath of the Voyager feature.

You and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you cannot be restrained or paralyzed, and have advantage on checks and saving throws to resist being grappled or frightened. At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Planar Vanguard

15th-level Oath of the Boundless feature.

Your connection to the planes grants you the ability to protect those who travel with you. When you or a friendly creature within 30 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by an amount equal to your Charisma modifier plus your paladin level. Additionally, when you use this ability, the creature that dealt the damage takes force damage equal to your Charisma modifier.

Planar Guardian

20th-level Oath of the Voyager feature.

You can call upon the full power of your oath to protect and guide those under your charge. Using your action, you create a 30-foot-radius sphere of protection centered on you that lasts for 1 minute. While within this sphere, you and your allies gain the following benefits:

  • Resistance to all damage.
  • Advantage on all saving throws.
  • You can teleport to any unoccupied space you can see within the sphere as a bonus action.

Additionally, you can cast Plane Shift once without expending a spell slot or material components, targeting only willing creatures.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
