Base Class: Bard
Bards from the College of Dance step to the flow of magic and the rythmn of the world, inspiring their allies not through words, but through motion. With each pirouette and every graceful leap, they enchant both friend and foe, compelling all to move and join their grand performance.
These bards understand the language of movement, and in their dance, they find the means to inspire allies to greatness. With a flick of their wrist and a flourish of their footwork, they channel the energy of the dance into their companions, and through their rhythmic guidance, allies are able to seize the moment with an extra burst of action.
In the quiet moments between adventures, the College of Dance bards spread joy far and wide. Their graceful movements tell stories of love and triumph, enchanting audiences in grand theaters and bustling town squares alike. From performers to teachers, they share their artistry with the world, reminding all who watch that life itself is a dance worth celebrating.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you join the College of Dance at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with martial weapons and the performance skill(or another skill of your choice if you're already proficient).
Inspiring steps
Also at 3rd level, your dance steps can rejuvenate allies, allowing them to exert themselves further. When you inspire a creature with your Bardic inspiration, they can use their reaction to immediately expend that inspiration. If they do so, at the end of your turn, they can take an additional action. That action can be used to take the Attack (one weapon attack only), Cast a cantrip, Dash, Disengage, Dodge, Hide, or Use an Object action.
Dos-à-dos
At 6th level, when you make a weapon attack, you give yourself a bonus to AC equal to your charisma modifier, as your footwork becomes too hard to predict. This bonus lasts until the start of your next turn and it does not stack.
Additionally, whenever you or a creature within 30 feet of yourself are targeted by an attack from a creature that can see you, you can use your reaction to force the attacker to make a wisdom saving throw against your spell save dc. On a failure, the creature can not resist joining your performance and can not make any more attacks until the end of its turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you complete a long rest.
All the world is our stage
At 14th level, when you grant a creature a Bardic inspiration, the both of you join in a powerful choreography. Creatures who benefit from Inspiring Steps can now retain their inspiration die, and the actions they may take also become stronger:
When a creature uses their action to attack, they benefit from features that allow them to attack more than once;
Creatures can now use the extra action to cast spells of a level up to half your proficiency bonus;
Creatures who opt to use one of the original actions granted by Inspiring Steps can make an additional bonus action.
Additionally, when you use your Inspiring Steps feature, you and the creature affected have advantage on dexterity saving throws. This benefit lasts until the start of your next turn, and ends early if you're paralyzed or incapacitated.
