A myth within a legend

You came to us for naked brutality,
All too tired from foolish humanity,
Abandon now, your useless reality,
Celebrate on, our lack of morality,
Forget your past of daily banality,
No guilt in pleasure - your new normality.

Dark treasures

Seeds planted into fertile soil tend to sprout and eventually bloom. Same rule applies not only to plants, but to everything which seeks growth. Anything which can grow can have value, can grow in value. That is a universal rule the universe had since the dawn of time – existence offers value.
There exist an old legend known mostly only to nomad tribes. This legends tells a story about pitch-black flowers who bloom only during tragedies. Though, to some this legend is not a tale of superstitious folks, but a goal in life, a destination to travel towards… The Void Flowers are very rare plants who found their way into material world from dark jungles at the edge of existence – the Voidlands. These flowers possess a strange power to consume existence and transform into it raw energy of pure darkness. In ancient times any tribe who would find one of these flowers typically used it a ceremonial consumption when the most powerful tribe warrior would consume the flower and become empowered by it. However, in more modern times these flowers are a very rare find and most people who set out to find them typically use them to create magical pigment. The void pigment holds tremendous potential for arcane arts. Moreover, if a mere flower could offer great power beyond what is available to most mortals, then what could its homeplane offer…
There is a realm that was doomed to be erased, yet, it managed to linger for far beyond what should have been its lifetime. A dark world of pain, despair, and endless hunger for existence. It is a lonely lost place filled with forgotten treasures, ancient knowledge and powers unlike any others. Any scholar or treasure hunter would love to delve into the depths of this place, but they must always be warned, because Voidlands is not a welcoming place. This world is dangerous and corrupting, and it seeks to influence the material plane, to spread its power through mortal realms, not only due to some nefarious reasons, but also because it anchors the dark real and stops it from slipping into the oblivion.

Scholars of the Voidlands

Many different aberrations reside within the dark realm. Many of them fled there from various corners of the universe, but very few have chosen to reside here without being threatened by some other power. Among those who reside here on their own free will, one ancient aberration is only known as The Keeper of Lore – a creature who maintains an ancient library and sometimes offers to share lost arcane knowledge with those who seek it.
Wizards who get corrupted by the forbidden knowledge are driven to collect fading existence of the mortal creatures to convert it into knowledge and power. Life and souls of the mortals matter less than knowledge hidden just beneath the veil of darkness.

Void Sacrifice

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, you gain power to empower creatures you touch by sacrificing their health. As a bonus action you can touch a creature and perform a special melee spell attack using Intelligence for your attack and damage rolls. On hit, your target will take (1d6) psychic damage, but until end of your next turn the target will be able to add bonus damage to their successful attack rolls equal to the damage they took from this feature.

If you target is willing, then this spell attack will hit automatically.

Increase damage of done by this feature by an additional 1d6 when you reach certain levels in this subclass: 5th level (for 2d6), 9th level (for 3d6), and 13th level (for 4d6).

Void Scriptures

Any damage dealing spell casted using this spellbook will deal psychic damage rather than its usual damage type (it may also modify the environmental effect(s) of spells as determined by DM). Moreover, while you have this Void Spellbook on your person, once per day when you roll d20 and gain result of 1, you can ignore results of that roll and do a new roll. Th new roll cannot be done with advantage or disadvantage.

If this Void Spellbook gets lost or destroyed, then over a course of a long rest you can conjure it back into your possession.

Knowledge Collector

Starting at 6th level you gain an ability to harvest souls. When a small or larger creature (except for constructs and undeads) dies within 60 feet of you and you can see them, then as a reaction you can harvest some of their fading life force and store it within your Void Spellbook granted to you by Void Scriptures feature. You will gain some knowledge the harvested creature knew in life. The knowledge you gain may be some basic knowledge, some personal secrets or a formula of some rare spell (as determined by DM).

Void Empowered Shielding

Beginning at 10th level, you gain bonus AC equal to your Intelligence modifier. Moreover, any Constitution Saving Throw you make now also gains a bonus equal to your Intelligence modifier.

When you deal psychic damage to a creature, then any resistance/immunity they have to psychic damage will be penetrated by that instance of damage.
