Base Class: Wizard
Unlike those who are blessed with the ability to use magic, students of the Arcane must learn formulas and calculations in order to command magic. As is true with all things, even secrets of the Arcane can be lost to time. The study of Lost Magic is dedicated to finding and mastering the techniques and practices of a long lost age. Lost Magic is not easily found, and its practitioners must dedicate much of their time in even locating knowledge of such magics.
Ritual of Binding
Starting at 2nd level, you can spend 10 minutes to form a magical bond with either a spellcasting focus or spellbook. You can form a bond with a number of different objects equal to your proficiency bonus, and may undo a bond at any time.
As a bonus action, you can summon one or more bonded objects from a harmless pocket dimension. You can also dismiss any bonded objects into the pocket dimension as a free action. If the bonded object is ever more than 100 feet away from you, you must perform the ritual before you can summon it again.
Lost Art: Magic Circle
Starting at 2nd level, when you cast a wizard spell, you can expend a spell slot of up to 5th level to apply a magic circle to that spell. You can select any of the following magic circle options to apply:
Power. When you cast a spell, you can expend a spell slot to cause the spell to deal an additional 2d6 damage.
The damage increases when you expend higher level spell slots: 3rd level (4d6), and 5th level (6d6).
Shape. When you cast a spell that has a shape of line, cone, cube, sphere, or cylinder, you can change it into another shape as listed above. When you change the shape you must maintain the spell’s original area. For example, a 30 foot cone would become a 30 foot line, sphere, etc.
Transmute. When you cast a spell, you can change that spell’s damage type into another type of your choice.
Intensify. When you cast a spell that requires a saving throw, you can expend a spell slot to give creatures and objects disadvantage against the spell’s first saving throw.
Expand. When you cast a spell, you can expend a spell slot to increase the area of the spell by 5 feet.
The area increases when you expend higher level spell slots: 3rd level (10 feet), and 5th level (15 feet).
Extend. When you cast a spell that has a duration of at least 1 minute or longer, you can expend a spell slot to double the spell's duration up to a maximum of 24 hours.
Multiply. When you cast a spell that targets only one creature and doesn't have a range of self, you can expend a spell slot to target an additional creature in range with the same spell. To be eligible, a spell must be incapable of targeting more than one creature at the spell's current level.
The number of additional targets increases when you expend higher level spell slots: 3rd level (2), and 5th level (3).
Reach. When you cast a spell that has a range of 5 feet or greater, you can expend a spell slot to double the range of the spell. If the spell has a range of touch you can instead make the range of the spell 30 feet.
Arcane Awareness
Starting at 6th level, you can cast the detect magic spell at will requiring no components.
Additionally whenever you make an Intelligence (Arcana) or (History) check, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.
Advanced Circle Comprehension
Starting at 10th level, when you expend a spell slot to create a magic circle, you can split the slot’s level to create more than one type of magic circle. You can create no more than 3 different types of circles with this ability.
Occam's Razor
Starting at 14th level, you gain the ability to simplify higher level spell slots into slots of lower levels as a bonus action. You cannot use this action to divide a spell slot of 6th level or higher, and when you use this action the highest level slot you can create is of 3rd level.
