Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

With the discovery of Magic back in ancient times so came the collaborative effort of many to construct it into the modern form we know of it today. Oriomancy is as old as the discovery of the arcana itself focusing on the formation and structure of magic and how it reacts with its environment. Despite its old history, due to its complexity and general lack of a focus on a particular school of magic, Oriomancers are few and far between however they are as valuable as they were during Magic's Infancy. As long as magic exist there will be those who pick up the study of Oriomancy. Ori- meaning origin, -mancy meaning divination; "the Origin of Divination".

Arcane Experience

2nd level Wizard Feature

Your study in Oriomancy has left you very adept at identifying magic and its structures. You gain proficiency in Arcana. If you are already proficient in Arcana you gain expertise instead.

Arcanal Augmentation

2nd level Wizard Feature
Throughout your studies you have figured out the correct and proper ratio of magic needed to safely compress or expand the range of spells typically left out of your control. Whenever you cast a spell that has an area of effect you can expand or shorten its size by 5 feet (10 feet at level 10, 15 feet at level 14). For example if you cast the Fireball spell you can increase or decrease its radius by 5 feet. Another example, if you cast the Lightning Bolt spell you increase its 100 foot line to a 105 foot line and its width from 5 feet to 10 feet.

Incantational Efficiency

6th level Wizard Feature

Modern Magic has become inefficient as time as has gone on primarily as of a consequence of lost arts and divine restrictions. Your studies in Arcana's Foundational structures has allowed you to bring back some of that efficiency into your spells. You gain a number of Matrix dies equal to double your proficiency bonus which, are d6s. Whenever you cast a spell that deals damage, restores hit points, or rolls a set number of dice that accumulate to give an effect (ex. sleep), you can expend and roll a maximum of 2 dice to increase the value equal to the number rolled. Your Matrix die changes when you reach certain levels in this class. The die becomes a d8 at 12th level. You regain all Matrix dies spent at the end of a long rest.

Furthermore, whenever you expend a Matrix die and cast a Wizard spell that deals damage, you can replace its damage type to that of another spell in your spellbook who's spell level is equal to the casted spell.

Arcanal Analysis

10th level Wizard Feature

You have become accustomed to recognizing and altering magical formulas/incantations on the fly as a result of the combination of your Combat, Magic, and Theoretical experience. As a reaction when you see a creature within 60 feet of you casting a spell, you can attempt to analyze it and take control over it. Make a contested Intelligence check added with your proficiency bonus against their Spell Save DC on a success you take control of their spell allowing you to choose a new legal target or area of effect of your choice (for all purposes the original caster is still treated as the caster of the spell). The spell must be of a level that you can cast or this feature fails.

Once you use this feature you gain a blistering headache from the stress of analysis until the end of your next turn. Whenever you attempt to cast a spell with this headache you must roll a d6, on a 2 or lower the spell fails to be casted and the spell slot is consumed. You cannot use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

Fusion Matrix

14th level Wizard Feature

Your study and practical experience with Oriomancy has reached its pinnacle. You understand how Arcana fully works on a fundamental level and have mustered enough expertise to craft and implement your own magical formulas. By using both your action and bonus action, you expend a spell slot of 9thlevel or lower to cast two spells that you are able to cast of any level that adds up to it. Only one of these spells can be 5th level or higher. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your half your Proficiency Bonus (rounded up) and regain all uses at the end of a long rest.
