Base Class: Sorcerer
Whether through a familial bond or a dark pact, a powerful lich has recognized immense potential within you and granted you a fraction of their own immortal essence. This gift, however, comes with a price. To harness this power, you must cultivate it within yourself and embrace the nature of undeath.
Relentless Constitution
You must survive at all costs. Whether through the force of conviction created within oneself or your peak physical health, you shrug off hits others could not.
At 1st level, while you are not wearing any armor, your armor class equals 10 + your Charisma modifier + your Constitution modifier. You can use a shield and still gain this benefit.
Lich's Gift
You gain the ability to access the gift bestowed upon you by the powerful lich responsible for your strength. This gift takes the form of a ritual that allows you to create a symbol of your power. This symbol can be as simple as an icon drawn in blood or a metallic sculpture grafted to an item. By binding this symbol to an item, you unlock its full potential.
At 1st level, You learn a ritual that binds your lich's gift to one item. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short rest. The item must be within your reach throughout the ritual, and at the conclusion, you touch the lich's gift and forge the bond. You gain proficiency with the bound item, whether it be a shield, weapon, armor, or tool. If the item is not a weapon, you can use it as an improvised weapon.
If the bound item is destroyed, you can recreate the gift and bind it to a different item through the ritual. You can only bind to one item at a time.
Channel Death
You learn to channel the power of death itself through your lich's gift.
Starting at 1st level, you learn to channel the power of death itself through your lich's gift. When you hit a creature with an attack using your bound item , you can expend one spell slot to deal extra necrotic damage to the target, in addition to the weapon's damage. The extra damage is 2d6 for a 1st-level spell slot, plus 1d6 for each spell level higher than 1st.
Full Binding
Beginning at 6th level, your soul is now completely bound to the lich's gift. You and your gift have become so intertwined that attacking with it becomes an extension of your own movements.
- Whenever you take the Attack action on your turn, you can make one additional attack with your bonded weapon.
- When you cast a spell with a casting time of 1 action, you can make one weapon attack as a bonus action.
Absorb Life
You have learned to take life from others, but you have been wasting it. You have been inefficient.
Starting at 6th level. whenever you use the channel death ability you can spend 1 sorcery point to regain hit points equal to the amount of necrotic damage done by the attack.
Embrace Death
You have done it. You have achieved what so few have ever accomplished: immortality. Dying has become improbable, almost impossible for you. Yet, death flows through you with an unnaturally constant presence.
Starting at 14th level, you have become immortal. Whenever you take damage that would reduce you to 0 hit points or kill you, you can use your reaction to bring yourself back from death. Your body reconstitutes, and you regain 1d6 hit points. You can expend a spell slot to increase the hit points regained by an additional 1d6 per level of the spell slot expended.
You can use this feature multiple times, provided your gift is not destroyed.
Additionally, whenever you attack with your Bound gift, the attack is automatically enhanced as if you used Death Channeling with a 1st-level spell slot.
Beyond Lichdom
Embrace your full potential. Go beyond what the lich who created you could ever achieve.
Starting at the 18th level, when you die and do not use Embrace Death to come back you can come back another way. After 24 hours you can reconstitute you and your gift within 100 feet of where you died at a time of your choosing. You gain the effect of a long rest at this time as well.
