Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the Way of the Raging Ki harness the raw, primal fury within themselves, merging the discipline of monk training with the relentless power of a barbarian's rage. These monks learn to channel their inner turmoil into focused bursts of energy, using their anger to fuel their martial prowess and enhance their combat abilities. This is known to come at a severe cost to the body of the monk who chooses to embrace rage instead of balance.

Monks of the Way of the Raging Ki often have tumultuous pasts or deep-seated anger that they struggle to control. Their journey involves understanding and harnessing their inner rage, transforming it into a source of strength rather than letting it consume them. These monks might be driven by a desire to protect others, avenge a wrong, or seek inner peace through mastering their fury. Their demeanor can vary from intense and brooding to calm and contemplative, reflecting their ongoing battle to balance rage with discipline.

Channeled Rage

At 3rd level, when you choose this tradition, you learn to channel your inner rage into your Ki. When you enter a state of focused fury, you can use a bonus action to spend 1 Ki point to enter a Raging Ki state for 1 minute. While in this state, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
  • When you make an unarmed strike, you can add your Wisdom modifier to the damage roll, this is in addition to your STR or DEX modifier that you would normally add.
  • You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
  • You cannot be charmed or frightened.

Furious Contact

Rage Enhanced Strikes: Your attacks become more ferocious. When you use Flurry of Blows, you can make one additional unarmed strike as part of that action. Additionally, if you hit a creature with an unarmed strike while in your Raging Ki state, you can knock the creature prone if it is no more than one size larger than you.

Attack The Ground: Your movement is described as you attacking the ground with ferocity unlike others. If you use a ki point to "Step of The Wind" you may use an additional ki point to Attack the Ground - doubling your dash movement speed, you cannot provoke an attack of opportunity while attacking the ground, and any enemy you come within 5 ft of is that is not flying or floating is subject to a DEX save to keep from going prone.
After attacking the ground, you may choose to take a level of exhaustion or lose 10% of your max Health rounded up from your current Health.

Ki Frenzy

Frenzied Assault: Your rage enhances your combat abilities further. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike while in your Raging Ki state, you can spend 1 Ki point to deal extra damage equal to your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier. You can use this ability only once per turn.

Defensive Fury: While in your Raging Ki state, when you take damage from a creature within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make an unarmed strike or grapple check against that creature.

Fury of Ancients: Your ancestors were known for their might and rage, fighting for days through mortal wounds only to fall at the end of battle. While in your Raging Ki state, you can choose to defer a round of damage to the end of combat where you take the entirety of the damage. If you take damage before the end of combat that would reduce to you 1 damage or less you take the deferred damage immediately and fail your first death save.

Avatar of Fury

Raging Avatar: You have mastered the balance between rage and discipline. As an action, you can spend 5 Ki points to enter an Avatar of Fury state for 1 minute. While in this state, you gain the following benefits:
You have advantage on all attack rolls.
Your unarmed strikes deal an additional 2d8 damage.
You have resistance to all damage types except psychic damage.
When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with an unarmed strike, you can immediately make an unarmed strike against another creature within range as part of the same action.

Rage Collapse: If you fail all of your death saves, you choose to take a single 10 second round of combat with full action and movement - at the end of that turn you implode sacrificing your flesh and soul into a singularity of rage that pulls in non-allied creatures from up to 120 feet away to your location where they immediately take 20d6 damage + Martial Die + Monk Level + STR Mod + WIS Mod + 1D4 per Ki point remaining unused.
