Bard
Base Class: Bard

Most bards find themselves confined to walls of performance halls or in the employ of royals and nobles alike. Bards from the College of Shanties, however, prefer to hone their skills around battle, sharing what they have learned with their fellow adventurers. Through heroic songs, and the occasional acrobatic flair, these bards are sure to keep fellow adventurers feeling energized and ready to tackle whatever their day may throw at them.

Bountiful Inspiration

At 3rd level, you've learned how to apply your Bardic Inspiration to your entire crew at once. When you use your Bardic Inspiration, you can spend additional charges and grant it to additional allies up to your Proficiency bonus as part of the same bonus action. If you spend two or more charges as the same bonus action, you can grant your Bardic Inspiration to another ally without consuming a use.

Charlatan's Sweep

Also at 3rd level, you've learned to use your swashbuckling panache to disable foes. You can shove as a bonus action, and when you do you can replace the Strength (Athletics) check with a Charisma (Performance) check.

Bardic Shanty

At 6th level, you've mastered performing with your chosen crew, whoever they are. Across 10 minutes, you can engage in a Shanty with up to 5 other creatures that can hear or see you. At the end of those 10 minutes, you and the creatures you chose gain benefits based on the type of Shanty you performed for 8 hours or until they become unconscious. There are three types of Shanty:

  • Words of the Harrier - You gain advantage on saving throws to avoid being frightened and on Charisma (Intimidation) checks. Additionally, creatures affected by this shanty gain +1 to their armor class so long as they are within 5 feet of another person affected by it.
  • Words of the Hearth - You gain advantage on saving throws to avoid being charmed and on Intelligence (History) checks. Additionally, creatures affected by this shanty gain an extra 10 feet of movement on their turn, so long as they start their turn within 5 feet of another person affected by it.
  • Words of the Hunter - You gain advantage on checks to escape being grappled and on Wisdom (Survival) checks. Additionally, creatures affected by this shanty deal an additional 2 damage on weapon attacks against creatures with a swim speed.

Eternal Comradery

At 14th level, you learn how to rally with your allies to assist each other. When a creature affected by a Bardic Shanty makes a saving throw, you can use your reaction to rally an ally within 15 feet of them. The allied creature rolls the same saving throw, and the original creature can use the higher of either roll for their own save. You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
