Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

Ravenguards are the shepherds of life and death. They intuit the natural laws of the world that are invisible to most mortals around them and use it to fell the mightiest foes. Opportunists by nature, they prioritize helping their team land deadly blows as well as keeping them safe from harm. Stalkers and tacticians, they typically are seen as individuals well versed with the dead, though there are some exceptions in places where they are instead blessed or cursed to see these signs.

Birds of Prey

At 3rd level, you've learned from the scavengers on how to increase the effectiveness of others' attacks, or capitalize in them.

If you are the first person to take the Attack action on a creature in a round and hit the target, their AC is lowered by 2 until the start of your next turn.
If you take the Attack action on a creature that an allied creature has taken the Attack action on this round, you deal an additional 1d6 damage of the weapon's type on a hit. At 11th level the extra damage increases to 3d6.

Protector's Wings

At 7th level, you have learned how to grant creatures the opportunity to escape dire circumstances. When a creature within 30 feet of you would provoke an opportunity attack, you can use your reaction to cause a momentary distraction and shield them, granting the creature the benefits of the disengage action.

Teachings of Death

At 11th level, you learn that there's opportunity in moments of death.

Your weapon attacks on a creature with hit points equal to or less than their maximum score a critical hit on a roll of 19-20. You also have advantage against effects that would cause you to be frightened by creatures who have half or less of their total hit points.

Spirited Away

At 15th level, the spirits of the dead aid those in your charge, allowing them to escape with narrower scars than should be possible.

As a reaction, when an ally that you can see or hear takes damage, you can halve (rounded down) the damage they take.
