Base Class: Monk
This subclass focuses on adding properties of defense by effectively blinding all creatures within a specified radius depending on your ki expenditure, which also grants damage resistance to damage for you, as well as your party members at higher levels. The secondary part of this subclass is the ability to generate temporary weapons which can perpetuate longer through ki point usage. This subclass also adds the cold damage type to your monk attacks at higher levels for more impact.
Evaporating Condensate
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to produce an evaporating condensate from your body as an action for a minimum of 2 ki points. This evaporation produces the effects of fog cloud centered on you for the duration as long as you maintain concentration. For each ki point you spend above 2, it increases the effect of fog cloud similar to increasing fog clouds spell level. You may move out of this effect in a turn if your movement speed allows, after which, the fog cloud will reconstitute over you.
Shards
At 3rd level, you can shape the power of your frozen core into a small and efficient monk weapon. You may form these shards as part of your attack actions. Their damage is equivalent to your martial arts dice and have the thrown property with range 20/60. You may also utilize these shards for your Flurry of Blows feature. Shards shatter on use.
Freezing Blood
At 6th level you can use your reaction to gain resistance against any source of damage that would reduce you to half of your total health (bloodied). As long as your are at or under half health, you have resistance to all damage types except for fire and psychic.
Honed Shards
At 6th level your shard attacks are considered magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance to non-magical weapons, gain a +1 magic bonus, and their range increases to (30/120).
Jagged Weapons
At 11th level, cold permeates your body and weapons. You may now also add your wisdom modifier to your unarmed strikes and monk weapon attacks. This extra damage is cold damage.
Hardened Shards
At 11th level your shards can maintain their form for longer by condensing their structure. They are +2 magical weapons and now have a range of (80/320). You may extend their usable duration to a number of hours equal to your CON mod for 1 ki point.
Mantle of Frost
At 17th level, when you use the evaporating condensate feature, you may spend an additional 4 ki points to exhibit extreme control over the fog so that you and allies within your cloud gain following benefits:
- Your CON modifier as bonus AC
- Resistance to all damage types except psychic
- Have advantage to stealth checks to hide
- Can see with vision un-obscured by the fog
- May add your CON modifier to any attack
Masterwork Shards
At 17th level, your shardcraft has been perfected. Your shards are now +3 magical weapons and have a range of (150/600).
