Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

A Blood Reaper Fighter is one who walks with death; one who’s hands are stained by that which empowers them- blood. Whether it be a divine gift, a horrid fascination, or simply a gruesome malady, a Blood Reaper thrives in the gore of the battlefield, their scythe a brush to paint the world red.

Blood Scythe

Beginnning at 3rd level, you’ve refined what others consider a tool into an instrument of battle. Whenever you finish a short or long rest, you may channel your macabre ability into creating your Blood Scythe; a two-handed heavy weapon that deals [roll]1d12[/roll] points of slashing damage. You are always considered proficient with it.

Whenever you hit a creature with this scythe, you may heal yourself an amount equal to 1 + your strength modifier as a bonus action. You can do so a number of times per day equal to half your fighter level rounded down.

Starting at 7th level, your scythe becomes imbued with the lifeblood of those its claimed, and is magical. At 10th level, your weapon receives a +1 to attack and damage, which increases to a +2 at 15th, and a +3 at 18th.

You may also use scythes not made by you in the same manner, but they do not receive the magical bonuses from your true Blood Scythe.

Blood Rend

Beginning at 7th Level, your proficiency with your crooked blade has grown to the point that the wounds are but jagged, bloody messes. When you hit a creature with your Blood Scythe, you can spend a bonus action to attempt to Blood Rend the target. The target is unable to heal until the end of your next turn, and they must succeed on a constitution saving throw or take [roll]1d6[/roll] necrotic damage at the beginning of each of their turns. They can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending the bleeding on a success.

The DC of Blood Rend is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your strength modifier, and you can use this ability a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.

Blood Cleave

Starting at 10th level, you’ve learned to pull more than one partner into your twisted dance. As an action, you can make a single attack with your Blood Scythe against a creature within reach. If you hit, you can then make an attack roll against a different creature that is both within reach and adjacent to the original target. Blood Cleave is considered to be part of the same attack for the purposes of applying Blood Rend.

You can Blood Cleave a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.

Death’s Door

Starting at 15th Level, the rot of the bodies with which you’ve paved your path perfuses your bloodied blade. Successful attacks made with your Blood Scythe deal an additional [roll]1d6[/roll] points of necrotic damage.

Blood Thirst

Beginning at 18th level, you’ve become a killer second to only death itself- a master of his vicious tool and an expert in his bloody work. Every attack with your Blood Scythe automatically applies Bloody Rend, and attacks made against bleeding enemies critically hit on a 19 to 20.
