Pact of the Mother - Takko

Your pact is with a primordial essence of chaos, a being of pure destruction that punishes you for the fires you have started in your past life. The Mothers grants you power, but it comes at a price: the chaos that constantly simmers within you can burst forth unpredictably, and you are forever bound to the flames you once wielded so carelessly.

Expanded Spell List

The Fiery Scourge lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Spell Level Spells
1st Burning Hands, faerie fire
2nd Flaming Sphere, Scorching Ray
3rd Fireball, Melf's Minute Meteors
4th Fire Shield, Wall of Fire
5th Immolation, Flame Strike

Fiery Tentacles of Chaos

Starting at 1st level, you can summon fiery tendrils that lash out at your enemies. As a bonus action, you can create fiery tentacles centered on a point you can see within 60 feet. The tentacles are fiery manifestations of chaos and deal fire damage. The tentacles last for 1 minute or until you use this feature again.

When a creature enters the area, a 10 foot sphere, for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC or take 2d6 fire damage and have its speed reduced by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and isn't slowed.

The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 10th level, and 5d6 at 14th level.

Additionally, whenever you roll a natural 1 on a spell attack roll or an ability check using Charisma, you must roll on the Wildfire Magic Surge table.

Chaotic Fire

At 6th level, your connection to the primordial chaos manifests in your spellcasting. When you cast a spell that deals fire damage, you can choose to roll on the Wildfire Magic Surge table. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Additionally, you gain the ability to harness the chaotic energy within you to bolster your spells. When you cast a spell that deals fire damage, you can choose to add your Charisma modifier to one damage roll of that spell. If you do so, you must roll on the Wildfire Magic Surge table

Unpredictable Flames

At 10th level, the chaotic nature of your patron's power grants you resistance to fire damage. Additionally, when you take fire damage, you can use your reaction to reflect some of that damage back at your attacker. The attacker takes fire damage equal to your warlock level + your Charisma modifier.

Avatar of Chaos

Starting at 14th level, you can channel the full chaotic fury of your patron. As an action, you can become an avatar of chaotic fire for 1 minute. During this time, you gain the following benefits:

  • You are immune to fire damage.
  • You emit an aura of fire in a 30-foot radius. Creatures of your choice within this radius take fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier at the start of each of their turns.
  • When you deal fire damage, you can add your Charisma modifier to the damage roll.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
