Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Taken into the Azure Sky Temple as a young adult, rather than a child, the Azure Agent struggles to manipulate energy in the same way as the other monks, yet their shrewd street smarts help them manifest the Azure Ki in other ways. When making an Azure Agent, choose the urchin background, then identify how it was that your acolyte came into service of the temple.

The Azure Sky Temple resides above the cloud line on its sacred mountain, having been founded after the disappearance of the mountain's previous protectors during the war between the Genasi gate protectors and the servants of the Defiled One.

The Azure Agent manifests weapons and tools with their Ki, and is unable to use it like the monks around them, but this matters little in a tradition that emphasizes the strength to protect over strict orthodoxy.

Azure Ki

3rd-level Azure Agent feature

Using your small reserves of Azure Ki, you can manifest various powers. This power is represented by your Azure Ki dice, which you have equal to twice your proficiency. They are a d6 each, increasing in size at certain levels in this class, to 5th level (d8), 11th level (d10), and 17th level (d12).

Some of these powers expend the Azure Ki die, as specified, and you cannot use these powers when your dice are all expended. Azure Ki dice are replenished when you finish a long rest.

Empowered Leap. You channel your Azure Ki into your legs, bolstering a jump and a landing. Roll and expend an Azure Ki dice, adding 5 x the dice result feet to a jump. This jump does not use movement speed.

Empowered Shove. Using a bonus action, you attempt to shove a creature no more than one size larger than you. The creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency modifier + your Dexterity modifier) or be pushed back a number of feet equal to 5 x an Azure Ki dice, expending the Azure Ki dice only on a success.

Innate Weapon

3rd-level Azure Agent feature

You can manifest your Azure Ki as various weapons known to you. With a bonus action, you can manifest a either a spectral blade or bow in your free hand. This Ki weapon lasts for 10 minutes or until you decide to dismiss it, as the Ki disperses back into your body.

You may manifest one Ki weapon at a time, increasing to two at 11th level and 3 at 18th level. You have a +1 to attack and damage rolls with this weapon, increasing to +2 at 11th level and +3 at 18th level. Ranged weapon attacks are made with Azure Ki projectiles, and all damage from Ki weapons count as magical for the purpose of overcoming magic resistance.

Azure Ki Discipline

9th-level Azure Agent feature

Your mastery over Azure Ki expands, giving you these powers for your Azure Ki dice:

Weak Point Targeting. If you make an attack roll with your Innate Weapon, you can roll one Azure Ki die and add the number rolled to the attack roll, regardless of whether you hit or miss. If this die causes the total for the attack roll to be equal to 20, this attack becomes a critical hit. The Azure Ki Die is not expended on a critical hit performed in this manner.

Energy Release. As an action, you release your Azure Ki. Expend two Azure Ki dice and roll them, dealing this damage as well as sneak attack (if it has not already been used this round) to all creatures within five feet. Each creature is pushed back a number of feet equal to 5 x the lower of the two Azure Ki dice.

Aquatic Merge

13th-level Azure Agent feature

You can merge with aquatic surfaces through a your mastery of Azure Ki. As an action, you can magically merge into an aquatic surface, along with anything you are wearing or carrying, for 1 hour or until you dismiss this effect (no action required). This merge ends immediately if you deal damage to a creature or you force it to make a saving throw. When you choose to resurface or coalesce, you may do so anywhere within 30 feet of your character token that is within the water.

While merged with the aquatic surface, you can hear, see, and breathe normally, though you are indistinguishable from the water. While you are within the water, you are immune to slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage, and resistant to all else except psychic.  If the volume of the water containing you is drained, absorbed, or destroyed, you immediately take 5d10 force damage and are returned to normal.

Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend an Azure Ki die.

Azure Avatar

17th-level Azure Agent feature

You become fully imbued with Azure Ki for one minute, granting a +5 to all Dexterity checks and saving throws. Additionally, all attacks carry Azure Ki, dealing an additional weapon die per hit. Additionally, you may expend an Azure Ki die to try and stun a target until the start of your next turn. On a hit with your innate weapon, you may expend one Azure Ki die and force a creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC equal to 10 + Azure Ki Dice)

Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend three Azure Ki dice.
