Base Class: Cleric
Clerics who follow the Domain of Balance are devoted to deities who uphold the principles of equilibrium, justice, and fairness. These clerics are granted the unique power of Equivalent Exchange, enabling them to sacrifice items of value to receive divine blessings of equal worth. They believe that every action has a corresponding reaction and that maintaining balance is essential for the harmony of the universe.
As a Cleric of Balance, you perform sacred rituals to invoke your deity's power, using your abilities to restore and maintain equilibrium in the world around you. Whether it is healing the wounded, enhancing the abilities of your allies, or dispelling malevolent influences, you ensure that the scales are always even.
Your place of worship might be a temple adorned with symbols of balance, or you might wander the world as a judge and mediator, settling disputes and righting wrongs wherever you find them. Your divine mission is to ensure that justice is served and that balance prevails, both in the mundane and magical realms.
Through your journey, you wield powerful domain spells, radiate an aura of balance to protect your allies, and harness the ultimate power of divine equivalence, demonstrating that true strength lies in maintaining harmony and justice.
Bonus Proficiency
When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain proficiency in one of these two skill checks. These abilitys helps you read people and situations accurately, or recall a piece of long lost knowledge on an item.
Equivalent Exchange
Equivalent Exchange: Starting at 1st level, you can perform a Small Exchange. As an action, you can sacrifice an item of value to gain a temporary blessing of equal worth. The item's value must be determined by its market worth in gold pieces (gp) or its inherent magical properties.
Sacrificial Offering: The item must have a minimum value of 1 gp. The Dungeon Master (DM) determines the precise value. The DM assesses the item's value based on its description and market conditions.
Blessing Received: The nature and strength of the blessing depend on the item's value as outlined by it's monetary worth and DM's views.
The amount of Gold / Item grade that you can offer is limited to what level you are in Cleric (Small, Moderate and Greater).
Channel Divinity: Restore Balance
Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to correct imbalances in your surroundings - this will require a Bonus Action to activate one of the following effects:
Balance of Life - LV2
Balance of Mind - LV3
Balance of Power - LV4
Charges will require a Long Rest to reset.
Equilibrium Aura
A soothing, harmonious energy radiates from your form, enveloping you and your allies. This aura shimmers with a gentle, balanced light that pulses rhythmically, symbolizing the equilibrium you bring to the battlefield.
You - The aura instills a sense of calm and confidence. Anxiety melts away, replaced by a serene determination. It's as if the cleric has drawn a line in the sand, within which you feel untouchable and supported.
Them - You notice a slight confusion and frustration in their expressions. They glance around, trying to shake off the disorienting influence of the light, but to avail.
Potent Spellcasting
Starting at 8th level, you add your WIS modifier to the damage you deal with any cleric cantrip that you use.
Divine Equivalence
Starting at 17th level, your ability to balance the scales reaches its pinnacle. You gain the following benefits -
Perfect Exchange: When you use Small Exchange, the blessings' effects are doubled (E.g, +1 to skill checks becomes +2, 1d8 HP becomes 2d8 HP).
Ultimate Balance: Once per long rest, you can use your Channel Divinity feature with the blessins becoming maximised.
1. You are no longer imited to giving a target only half of your HP pool.
2. WIS effects removed now no longer require a roll, only an action towards a target within 30 feet.
3. Now grants a +2d4 bonus to a target's next attack roll if they are within 30 feet. You will then have -2d4 taken off your next roll.
