Artificer
Base Class: Artificer

A Runecarver is an Artificer who has specialised in learning Eldritch Magic by practising the dark Necromancy magic of Bonecharms. These artificers create magical trinkets which tap into the powers of the far realms, bringing a touch of that warped plane with them.

Tool Proficiency

You gain proficiency with Wood Carvers Tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tool of your choice

Runecarver's Spells

You gain additional spells, these count as artificer spells for you but do not count against your number of spells known.

3rd Armour of Agathys, Arms of Hadar

5th Darkness, Misty Step

9th Vampiric Touch, Hypnotic Pattern

13th Summon Aberration, Elemental Bane* 

17th Modify Memory, Dominate Person

Bonecharms

At 3rd level, while wielding your wood carvers tools. you may expend an action as well as a 1st level spell slot to create a Bonecharm.

While wielding a Bonecharm a creature may use it to learn an Eldritch Invocation from the warlock invocation list. Their spellcasting ability for the invocation is Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma (Their choice when they select the invocation). If the invocation has a prerequisite of any kind, they can choose that invocation only if they are a warlock who meets the prerequisite.

You may create two Bonecharms per Long Rest.

Mind Meld

At 5th level you may create one additional Bonecharm and may have three active bonecharms at a time.

Additionally, you may cast the Warding Bond spell targeting a creature with one of your Bonecharms equipped without expending a spell slot.

Eldritch Attunement

At 9th level, while Attuned to a Magic Item, you gain resistance to psychic damage and advantage on saving throws against being frightened.

Rooting Influence

At 15th level, any creature wielding one of your Bonecharms gains a +1  bonus to Saving Throws and AC. They also learn the Eldritch Blast Cantrip, their spellcasting ability for the spell is Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma (Their choice when they equip the Bonecharm). Additionally, while you are within 30ft, they may add half your Intelligence Modifier (rounded down, to a minimum of +1) to their spell save DC.

When you cast a spell, you may cast it from a creature wielding your Bonecharms position. Provided they are on the same plane as you.
