Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

You are a material mage, a type of wizard that focuses on unlocking the potential of a single substance.  It might be organic or inorganic, mundane or priceless.  Other practitioners of the arcane arts find your obsession curious or even absurd, but you know that your chosen material contains real power.

School of Chocolate

Mages of the School of Chocolate use their magic to bring cheer to the world.  Always optimistic and never scared to stand up for what’s right, these mages (sometimes called chocolatiers) gain the ability to inspire their allies.  In their spare time, they often try their hand at making new and exotic types of chocolate.

Chocolaty Cheer

At 2nd level, casting spells gives you the power to persevere through the toughest situations.  When you cast a wizard spell of 1st level or higher, you gain temporary hit points equal to the level of the spell and gain advantage on saving throws against being frightened for a number of rounds equal to the spell’s level.  The temporary hit points stack up to your wizard level.

Spring in Your Step

Starting at 2nd level, when you cast a wizard spell of 1st level or higher, your speed increases by 5 feet for a number of minutes equal to the spell’s level.  This benefit doesn’t stack.

Hand Out Chocolate

Starting at 6th level, when you target another creature with a non-damaging spell of at least 1st level, you can give it temporary hit points equal to twice the level of the spell and advantage on saving throws against being frightened for a number of rounds equal to the spell’s level.  You can also increase its speed by 5 feet for a number of minutes equal to the spell’s level.  This benefit doesn’t stack.

You add the spells Heroism, Aid, and Beacon of Hope to your spellbook. The temporary hit points from this feature stack with those given by Heroism.

Fearless Chocolatier

Beginning at 10th level, Chocolaty Cheer and Hand out Chocolate give immunity to being frightened for a number of rounds equal to the spell’s level.  Hand Out Chocolate gives temporary hit points equal to three times the level of the spell.

You can cast Heroism, Aid, and Beacon of Hope at 3rd level without expending a spell slot.  Once you use this ability, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Bitter Chocolatier

By 14th level, you have learned how to use chocolate to not merely aid your friends, but assail your enemies.  Your magic gives your enemies a bitter sensation that is actually a minor curse.  When a creature fails a saving throw against one of your wizard spells or is damaged by one of your spells that doesn’t allow a saving throw, you can choose to curse it for a number of rounds equal to half of the spell’s level (minimum 1 round).  Cantrips curse creatures for 1 round.  When a cursed creature makes an attack roll or ability check, it must roll a d4 and subtract the number rolled from the attack roll or ability check.  An individual creature cannot be affected more than once in a 24-hour period by this feature.
