Base Class: Artificer
Witches, Chemists and Doctors, what separates them is only the perception of the beholder and the situation in which they find themselves. You can be any of them. Alchemist deserves some improvements so a lot of options for it. Allowing the subclass to shiny even with new rules from upcoming 2024 PHB. Use the standard rules for this subclass found in TCE book add any optional features from this revision.
Extracts Savant
You have mastered the art of extracting reagents and know where to find them. At 3rd level, choose a proficiency from: poisoneer's kit or herbalism kit. You get the chosen kit. Additionally, you can add a bonus equal to your Intelligence modifier to any Medicine or Survival check involving the chosen tool. For example, in ability tests to identify and neutralize poison and to find and identify healing herbs or herbs used in potions. (Alternatively, gain advantage on Medicine, Survival, or Nature checks you are proficient in involving the chosen tool)
Booster Elixirs
Starting at 5th level, when you cast an abjuration school spell using your action targeting yourself or a willing creature, you can use your bonus action to consume an experimental elixir (covering your alchemical supplies used as a spellcasting focus with the contents of the experimental elixir) and add its effect in addition to the spell's effects. Additionally, your alchemist's supplies are now considered an arcane focus for the purposes of applying an infusion.
Leftovers Recipe
At 5th level, when you finish a short rest, you can roll the experimental elixir table once and add it without spending a spell slot provided you have an empty flask.
Potent Elixirs
Starting at 9th level, you can create potent experimental elixirs by spending a spell slot of 2nd level or higher for each one. When you do so, you use your action to create the elixir in an empty flask you touch, and you choose the elixir's effect, this feature grants the effects is doubled. Additionally, you can tap an experimental elixir and make it potent by spending a spell slot of 1st level or higher. When you reach 15th level, choose one of your experimental elixirs, touch it at the end of the long rest you used to create it and make it potent.
Potions Maniac
You can cast Tasha's Bubbling Cauldron without expending a spell slot, without preparing the spell, and without material components as long as you use alchemist's supplies as the casting focus. Once you cast it with this feature, you cannot cast it this way again until you finish a long rest. (Alternatively, remove the Heal spell from Chemical Mastery and replace it with this spell, since both are 6th circle).
