Base Class: Bard
All bards are masters of the performing arts, but bards in the College of Captivation take this further. These bards hone their skills and focus their latent magical ability to impose their will on both the minds of their audience and reality itself. Common members of this bard college include succubi, incubi, fey, and trickster spirits; but any bard who puts their craft before all else, and is willing to put in the time and effort to perfect their performing arts skills can access the abilities granted by the College of Captivation.
Entrancing Stage Presence
At 3rd level, you've gained the ability to warp people's minds with your performances. When you perform for at least a minute, you can make a number of creatures up to your Charisma modifier who've witnessed it make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, they view you and allied creatures with one of your bardic inspirations as figures of entrancing beauty.
This causes you and allied creatures with one of your bardic inspirations to have advantage on Charisma (Deception and Persuasion) checks against them until you stop performing, or until an allied creature expends your bardic inspiration. Creatures who are immune to the Charmed condition are unaffected. This feature can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Battle Busker
At 3rd level, you can enchant enemies during combat with your performances. As an action, you can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration to use one of your performance specialties. Choose a number of creatures up to your Charisma modifier in a 30 foot radius from you, they must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be charmed until the beginning of your next turn.
You can continue your performance for a number of turns equal to your Charisma modifier and creatures affected by your performance are charmed until the beginning of your next turn, at which point you can attempt to charm another number of creatures up to your Charisma modifier.
Whenever you take damage while using this feature, you must make a Constitution saving throw to maintain the effects on the targeted creatures (a failure doesn't end the performance, only the effects that currently affect targeted creatures). The DC equals 10 or half the damage you take, whichever number is higher.
You choose one performance specialty at level 3, and another at levels 5, 7, 10, and 15; representing your practiced mastery of song, dance, comedy, storytelling, and acting.
Acteur
Prerequisite: 7th level
Using your specialty as an actor, you attempt to decieve enemies with your theatrics.
Charmed enemies view you as the greatest of warriors or spellcasters, or as a small army of them. While charmed in this way, creatures take an additional number of your Bardic Inspiration dice equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded up) as psychic damage when they are dealt weapon attacks, spell attacks, or area damage from you.
Chanteur
Using your specialty as a musician, you attempt to confuse targets that can hear you with a magical song.
Charmed creatures view every creature they can see as an illusory copy of you performing your song. While charmed in this way, targets have disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws and must use their action to make a melee weapon attack against the nearest creature.
Danseur
Using your specialty as a dancer, you attempt to enchant targets who can see you with your rhythmic movements.
Charmed creatures view you as a figure of unimaginable beauty and are transfixed by you. While charmed in this way, targets have disadvantage on attack rolls and must immediately use their reaction, if available, to move up to half their speed in a straight line towards you.
Humeur
Prerequisite: 5th level
Using your specialty as a comedian, you attempt to greatly amuse creatures that can see or hear you with your routine.
Charmed creatures find your performance to be ridiculously hilarious as their bodies are wracked with uncontrollable laughter. While charmed in this way, creatures have disadvantage on Constitution saving throws and immediately end any grapples, restraints, or concentration spells/features they currently have active.
Raconteur
Prerequisite: 5th level
Using your specialty as a storyteller, you attempt to charm targets who can see or hear you by weaving a tale that imposes itself on their reality.
Charmed creatures observe illusory images of creatures, plants, and objects all throughout their current terrain that they attempt to move through or around. While charmed in this way, creatures have disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws and their speed is halved.
Muse's Blessing
At 6th level, your performances can bolster your allies. Any nonhostile creature within 30 feet of you that can witness your "Battle Busker" performance can choose to immediately gain the following benefits when the performance starts or at the beginning of their turn so long as they have one of your Bardic Inspirations (no action required):
- They gain temporary hitpoints at a number of your Bardic Inspiration dice equal to 1 + your Bard level.
- Once per turn, they gain advantage on an attack roll against a hostile creature.
- They gain a bonus to saving throws equal to your Charisma modifier
These benefits last until they lose the temporary hitpoints gained by this feature or your performance ends (whichever happens first). Creatures who gain the benefits of this feature can no longer use the Bardic Inspiration on attacks, ability checks, spell damage, or spell healing.
Glorious Entertainer
At 14th level, you've reached the pinnacle of skill as a performance artist, allowing you to further captivate the mind and hearts of your audience. This mastery over your craft has granted you the following benefits:
- Your Entrancing Stage Presence feature overcomes immumity to the "Charmed" condition.
- You may now use your Battle Busker feature as a bonus action (it can still only be activated once per turn).
- You have advantage on Constitution saving throws made in order to maintain concentration on your Battle Busker performances.
- You may now use your Muse's Blessing feature without expending a use of your Bardic Inspiration, but the dice size for temporary hitpoints is reduced to a d6.
- You may now use Battle Busker specialties by expending a spell slot equal to the Bard level required to learn it (3rd level slot for "Danseur" , 5th level slot for "Humeur", etc)
