Golem Architect

3rd-Level Golem Architect Feature

At 3rd level, as an Action, you can magically summon the golem that you created and that is bound to you. It appears in an unoccupied space of your choice within 30 feet of you.

The golem is friendly to you and your companions, and it obeys your commands. See its game statistics in the accompanying golem companion stat block, which uses your proficiency bonus (PB) in several places. Whenever you summon the golem, choose a damage type listed in its Crystal Material trait. You can determine the cosmetic characteristics of the golem, such as its color, its stone texture, or any visible effect of its Crystal Material; your choice has no effect on its game statistics.

In combat, the golem shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It can move and use its reaction on its own, but the only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the golem can take any action of its choice, not just Dodge.

The golem remains until it is reduced to 0 hit points, until you use this feature to summon the golem again, or until you die. Anything the golem was wearing or carrying is left behind when the golem vanishes.

Once you summon the golem, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to summon it.

Crystal Material. When you summon the golem, choose a crystal type: Star Ruby (Fire), Star Sapphire (Cold), Moonstone (Force), Sunstone (Radiant) or Star Rose Quartz (Psychic). The chosen material determines the golem’s damage immunity and the damage it deals with it's crystal energy feature.

Actions

Bash. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 plus (PB) to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d8 plus (PB) bludgeoning damage.

Magnify Gravity. As an action the golem can magnify itself to any surface allowing it to walk up and down vertical planes. This also gives it immunity to being knocked Prone.

Reactions

Crystal Absorption. When the golem is hit by an attack or is in the area of a damaging effect that uses the same damage type as the golems crystal material, the golem can absorb the damage through its immunity to it and regain hit points equal to the damage the golem could have taken if it was not immune to the damage. You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus (PB).

Magical Golem (Cold)

Your Magical Golem's crystal material is Star Sapphires, so its essence is Cold.

Magical Golem (Fire)

Your golem's crystal material is a Star Ruby, making it's elemental essence fire.

Magical Golem (Force)

Your golem's crystal material is moonstone, so its essence is Force.

Magical Golem (Psychic)

Your golems crystal material is Star Rose Quartz, so its essence is Psychic.

Magical Golem (Radiant)

Your golems crystal material is sunstone, so its essence is Radiant.

Golem and Architect's Mental Bond

7th-Level Golem Architect Feature

At 7th level the mental connection you share with your golem intensifies, protecting you and building the golem's strength.

In addition, while your golem is summoned, you and the golem gain the following benefits:

Golem Armor. Reflecting your psychic bond, you can use the golem as a secondary suit of armor by melding with it as an Action , if your size is Medium or smaller. While inside the golem you take no damage, when the golem disappears as a result of dropping to 0 hit points, any excess damage carries over to you. As long as the excess damage doesn't reduce you to 0 hit points, you aren't knocked unconscious.

Crystal Energy's. When the golem makes a bash attack, the golem infuses the strike with the energies from its bodies crystal material, causing the target to take an extra 1d6 damage of the respective material type.

Walk in the Golem's Shoes. You can communicate telepathically with your golem as long as you are on the same plane of existence. Additionally, as an Action, you can see through your golem's eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn, gaining the benefits of any special senses that the golem has. During this time, you are deaf and blind with regard to your own senses. Additionally, while perceiving through your golem’s senses, you can also speak through your golem in your own voice.

Finally, when you cast a spell that has a range of touch, your golem can deliver the spell as if it had cast the spell. Your golem must be within 100 feet of you, and it must use its reaction to deliver the spell when you cast it. If the spell requires an attack roll, you use your attack modifier for the roll.

Golem's Aura

11th-Level Golem Architect Feature

At 11th level, as an action, you can cause your golem to release a 30ft radius of damaging energy around itself. The damage type done in the radius matches your golem’s crystal material. Each creature in the cone must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC, taking 8d6 damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

This damage increases to 10d6 when you reach 15th level in this class.

Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 3rd level or higher to use it again.

Golem and Architect's Perfected Connection

15th-Level Golem Architect Feature

At 15th level, your mental connection to your golem reaches the pinnacle of its power. While your golem is summoned it gains the following benefits:

Empowered Crystal Energy. The golem’s bash attack deals an extra 1d6 damage of the type chosen for its Crystal Material (for a total of 2d6 extra damage).

Large Golem. The golem grows to Large size.

Magical Golem. You can now cast any spells regardless of range through your golem while using your Walk in the Golem's Shoes Feature.
