Base Class: Druid
The circle of the oldest, most desperate, and least mystical of the old ways of the forests, jungles and desperate realms. The Circle of the Savage comes from traditions steeped in war, violence and ferocity. Those fighting against the spread of civilization (thus its name, which tens to come form said civilizations), warring tribes of orcs or goblins, and other similar factious and combatant groups. They are tough, brutal and strong. They are notorious for their harsh and secretive rituals, the results of which bestow their unique gifts. They store spells in their flesh using ritual tattoos similar to scribe scroll, and toughen themselves through ritual scarring which covers their body.
Ceremonial Tattoos
When you choose this circle at 2nd level your body is covered in ceremonial tattoos. This allows you to store one spell of up to the highest level you can cast.
You can cast it from your flesh as though casting a spell from a scroll.
Ritual Scarring
Your initiation rites include ritual scarring. The visibly toughened skin turns steel and flame. You resist 2 damage from every source.
Savage Manifestation
You gain three spell like abilities, barkskin, regeneration and shillelagh. You can use one per short rest, and each once per extended rest. Each can only be used on yourself as a bonus action.
The Hunger of the Beast
You can sacrifice one of your highest level spell slots (up to 8) as a bonus action. As long as you concentration on the affect, you regain 1 third of the damage you deal with melee attacks as health.
Inviolability of Nature
The first time you are rendered unconscious by damage before a short rest, you are affected as if by the Heal spell.

Posted Sep 11, 2019Thanks for the feedback (I didn't actually know there was a comment system).
Dungeons & Dragons is a game of exceptions. Any feature supersedes the base rules. In this way whatever changes are mentioned, and only those changes, pertain. As such, rules as currently written, "As a scroll" would mean no and then yes. You do not need to charge the spell every long rest, anymore than you would a scroll; because you must expend materials to make a scroll, and you use the spell as you would a scroll, then the answer would be yes. (Which was not my intention, but perhaps it should be. Most of the games that I have played in, that kind of thing would likely have been hand waved).
I have actually decided that this version probably isn't what I am going to use/work on going forward FYI. I am writing a supplement guide for the DM's guild that will include a much more in depth and different version of this archtype. It will also include a hand full of subraces, archetypes for other classes as well, spells, feats, and a number of variant rules.

Posted Sep 11, 2019I like what I see. But I think you need to be a bit more descriptive on usage. Especially on Ceremonial Tattoos. Do I get charge this every long rest? Do I have to spend the same amount of materials as I would to make a scroll?
