Base Class: Barbarian
Barbarians who embrace the Path of the Blade are inspired by the ideals of chivalry and the martial prowess of knights. These barbarians combine their innate ferocity with the discipline and training of armored combatants, forging a unique blend of barbaric rage and knightly honor.
When a barbarian who follows this path rages, they don the mantle of a fearsome knight, channeling their fury into precise and devastating attacks while clad in armor. These warriors can endure tremendous punishment and still stand strong, their resilience bolstered by their indomitable spirit and unwavering resolve. Whether standing as the last line of defense or charging headlong into the fray, barbarians of the Path of the Blade are paragons of strength and honor, their very presence a testament to the power of disciplined rage.
Ironclad Fury
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can rage while wearing medium or heavy armor. Additionally, while you are raging, you can add your proficiency modifier to your Armor Class while wearing medium or heavy armor.
Momentum
Starting at 3rd level, your momentum on the battlefield enhances your abilities, steeling your mind and resolve. While wearing heavy armor, you gain proficiency in Charisma, Wisdom, and Intelligence saving throws. While wearing medium armor, you gain a +5 bonus to your movement speed and can add your proficiency modifier to your Dexterity score.
At 11th level, you no longer suffer the stealth disadvantage of heavy armor, and can add your full dexterity modifier to your armor class in medium armor.
Defensive Stance
Starting at 6th level, your defensive stance bolsters your allies' defenses. As an action, you can grant all friendly creatures within 10 feet of you a bonus to their Armor Class equal to your proficiency bonus for 1 minute. During this time, you gain a bonus to your Armor Class equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded up) and cannot use Reckless Attack. You can use this feature once per long rest.
Starting at 11th level, you regain this feature after a short or long rest.
Stalwart Defense
Starting at 10th level, you can ground yourself into a single position by expending a bonus action, reducing your movement speed to 10 feet until the start of your next turn. During this time, you cannot be moved by non-magical means, and you have advantage on saving throws against being moved by magical means. Additionally, if you are prompted to make a Dexterity saving throw by an attack and fail, you instead take half damage.
Wrathful Leader
Starting at 14th level, your presence on the battlefield becomes both fearsome and protective. While raging, when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, choose another creature that you can see. That creature must make a Constitution saving throw (DC equal to 10 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or be stunned. The creature is paralyzed in fear by you until the end of your next turn. Additionally, when a creature you can see within 30 feet of you is hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.
