Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Dread Fist are those who have honed their ki into a weapon of will, channeling their bloodthirst into a savage martial form capable of laying low even the strongest foes. They are champions, gladiators, bodyguards and primal warriors, who fight heedless of their own well being or a sense of self preservation. Dread Fists are those who seek violence and victory, honing their ki and abilities to make themselves into a living weapon that inspires fear those they come into conflict with.

Way of the Dread Fist

Dread Frenzy - The Dread Fist can expend a ki point as a bonus action to enter a frenzied state, sacrificing their wisdom bonus to AC {{modifier:wis@min:1}} and adding that bonus to damage rolled on their martial arts die. They gain Resistance to either bludgeoning, piercing or slashing for the duration of their Frenzy. This Frenzy lasts for up to a minute. If a Dread Fist reduces a living target to 0 hp while Frenzied they regain 1 ki point. They can regain a number ofki points in this manner equal to their wisdom modifier {{modifier:wis@min1}} per short rest. The Dread Fist can choose to end  their Frenzy early as a bonus action. Additionally, the Frenzy ends if the  Dread fist has not attacked or taken damage for one round. While Frenzied in this manner the Dread Fist cannot cast or concentrate on spells.

Fearful Fist -  The Dread Fist's strikes imbue their foes with fear. The Dread Fist can expend a ki point once per turn as part of an unarmed or weapon attack. Regardless of whether or not the Dread Fist hits, their opponent must make a wisdom saving throw equal or higher than the Dread Fists DC {{savedc:wis}} or become frightened. If the Dread Fist hits on their attack, they deal one additional martial arts die of damage and their target  makes their save at disadvantage. The Target may attempt a new saving throw every round at the end of their turn.

Dreadful Talents

A Monk of the Dread Fist knows how to utilize their body and presence to great effect, overcoming obstacles and demoralizing opponents through word or deed. At third level, when you choose this tradition, you gain proficiency in intimidation and athletics skills.

Reckless Attack

Starting at 3rd level, you can throw aside all concern for defense to attack with fierce desperation. When you make your first attack on your turn, you can decide to attack recklessly. Doing so gives you advantage on melee weapon attack rolls using your martial arts dice during this turn, but attack rolls against you have advantage until your next turn.

Frenzied Fortitude

The Dread Fist gains 1d10 + {{characterlevel}} Temporary HP when they enter a Frenzy. These hit points last until expended or the Frenzy ends. Additionally you are resistant to Psychic damage while frenzied, in addition to the resistance you chose at the beginning of the Frenzy.

Frenzied Focus

Once per Frenzy the Dread Fist can reroll a saving throw. At 17th lvl the Dread Fist gains advantage on all saves while Frenzied.

Dread Fury

Once per Frenzy the Dread Fist can expend 2 ki points when taking the attack action to take an additional attack action that turn. All attacks taken that round deal one additional martial arts die of damage. If the Dread Fist scores a critical hit during this turn they roll two additional dice ( for a total of three) when determining the additional damage dealt by the critical. Targets struck by an attack using this ability must make a wisdom saving throw equal to or greater than the Dread Fist's DC {{savedc:wis}} or be considered Frightened. An enemy who is frightened in this way has  their speed reduced to zero. This ability surpasses any immunities the target may have.
