Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Somewhere along your line of ancestors, a vampire took a liking to one of your forebears and it has now left the magic of your bloodline blackened and stained with undeath and darkness. Somehow, you have managed to rest control of your blood line and use the power given to you by your ghastly ancestor for more productive purposes other than feeding and terrorising local populations.

Whether you descended from a seductive Carmillian, a conquering Dracull, a mysterious Nosferat, or a primal Strigosi, you have the power to defy your blood line's natural instincts, or indulge in them. The choice is yours and yours alone.

You are an Ebonheart, a creature whose heart is black, but whose heart still beats.

Unnatural Ability

Starting at 1st level, your latent unnatural abilities begin to manifest. You gain darkvision with a range of 60 feet.

At 3rd level you may spend one sorcery point to gain the benefits of the spider climb spell for one minute.

At 5th level you may spend three sorcery points to polymorph into a tiny bat with the ability to polymorph back into your true form. Your statistics, other than your size and speed, are unchanged. You can only use this feature once per short rest.

Vampiric Lineage

At 1st level, you discover dark magical abilities within yourself. Choose a vampiric lineage. At 3rd, 9th and 15th level, you learn the spells associated with your lineage, as shown in the table. These spells count as sorcerer spells for you, but they don’t count against your number of sorcerer spells known or prepared.

Lineage 3rd level 9th level 15th level
Carmillian suggestion dominate person glibness
Dracull knock passwall earthquake
Nosferat darkness mislead antipathy/sympathy
Strigosi hold person hold monster power word stun
Carmillian

You learn the suggestion, dominate person and glibness spells. These spells don't count against your number of sorcerer spells known or prepared.

Dracull

You learn the knock, passwall and earthquake spells. These spells don't count against your number of sorcerer spells known or prepared.

Nosferat

You learn the darkness, mislead and antipathy/sympathy spells. These spells don't count against your number of sorcerer spells known or prepared.

Strigosi

You learn the hold person, hold monster and power word stun spells. These spells don't count against your number of sorcerer spells known or prepared.

Dark Presence

At 6th level, your lineage become more and more apparent to you and others around you. When you speak with, or are near, a creature who can see you for one minute, you can have them make a Charisma saving throw. On a failed save they suffer effects based on your lineage. A creature may only be affected by your Dark Presence once every 24 hours.

Carmillian

On a failed save the creature is charmed by you for one minute or until you leave its sight.

Dracull

On a failed save the creature is frightened of you for a minute or until you leave their sight.

Noferat

On a failed save the creature cannot remember your name or any identifying physical features about you after you leave their presence for the next minute.

Strigosi

On a failed save the creature has disadvantage on the first saving throw it makes within the next minute.

Vampiric Thrall

At 14th level, you have gained your ancestor's ability to bring the living into your service. You can use your action to touch an incapacitated humanoid. That creature must make a Charisma saving throw or become your thrall.

Your thrall regards you as a trusted friend to be heeded and protected. Although it isn't under you control, it takes your requests or actions in the most favourable way it can. The thrall repeats the saving throw at every Dawn. You can only have one thrall at a time.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until the next Dawn.

Vampiric Scion

At 18th level, you can use a bonus action and spend 5 sorcery points to let the power of undeath in your blood take over. For the next minute you transform into a vampiric state. While in this state you gain the following benefits:

  • You have access to your Spider Climb (no action required) and Shapechanger features without spending sorcery points.
  • You have resistance to necrotic; bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical attacks.
  • You regenerate hit points at the start of your turn equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1 hit point) while you have at least 1 hit point. If you take radiant damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of your next turn.
  • You also gain one benefit based on your lineage.
Carmillian

Creatures near you have disadvantage on all attacks they make against you.

Dracull

Killing a creature gives you temporary hit points equal to your sorcerer level.

Nosferat

You can use your action to go invisible until you make an attack or cast a spell.

Strigosi

Creatures within 60 feet of you are affected by your dark presence as if they had failed the saving throw.
