Base Class: Wizard
The Universal School of the Arcane is only for the most intuitive of Wizards. They spend their time between learning each of the eight schools of magic combing the spells they've learned to create new hybrid spells. The path of the universalist often ends up with the wizards having a vast knowledge of different spells and as such they gain additional spells known as they level. To a universalist all schools are are equally incredible and must be studied frivolously. Many of them commit all of their spells to memory.
The Wizards of the Universal School of the Arcane are typically well accepted among the other schools of the arcane to their faces. Often regarding them as ambitious. However, behind their backs the other schools describe them as fools and call them by their nickname "Experimentalists" instead of Universalists.
Determined Student
Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, you learn 3 spells known every time you level instead of 2.
Hybrid Spell
Starting at 2nd level, you can weave magic together to create a combination of two spells in one. In doing so when you prepare your spells, you can prepare two spell slots of the same type as a hybrid spell that you can cast in one action. Spells that can be mixed together must have the same target, be the same spell level, be apart of different schools, and not both require concentration. You may only have one hybrid spell prepared this way and it can’t be higher than 5th level.
Quick Thinker
Starting at 6th level, due to your dedicated studies once per day you may cast a spell up to 3rd Spell level without having prepared it beforehand and without using a spell slot. The spell must be in your spell book.
Innovator
Beginning at 10th level, when you are preparing your spells, you may prepare one spell you don't have in your spell book in any spell slot that you can use. If the prepared spell is used then you may add that spell to your list of spells known. If the spell is not used by the time you take a long rest then you lose the spell and cannot prepare it again this way.
A Greater Understanding
Starting at 14th level, through the mastery of the schools your mind opens to even greater potential. Your maximum Intelligence can now go as high as 22. In addition your intelligence is permanently increased by 2.
