Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Nightblades are elusive assassins who draw power from the shadows, striking fear into their enemies and slipping away unseen. They have mastered the art of manipulating darkness, allowing them to move silently, strike suddenly, and disappear without a trace.

Umbral Step

Starting at 3rd level, you can use the shadows to move swiftly and silently. As a bonus action, you can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see that is in dim light or darkness. After using this feature, you have advantage on the first melee attack you make before the end of your turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Cloak of Dusk

Also at 3rd level, you can shroud yourself in shadow to avoid detection. When you are in dim light or darkness, you can take the Hide action as a bonus action. Additionally, when you are hidden from a creature and miss it with a ranged attack, making the attack doesn’t reveal your position.

Shade Veil

At 9th level, you can envelop yourself in shadow, becoming nearly invisible. As an action, you can become invisible until the end of your next turn. If you make an attack or cast a spell during this time, the invisibility ends. Additionally, while in dim light or darkness, you gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical attacks.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Shadowstrike

At 13th level, your attacks are empowered by the dark energy of the shadows. When you hit a creature with a Sneak Attack while you are in dim light or darkness, you can choose to deal an additional 3d6 necrotic damage. The target must also succeed on a constitution saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus) or have its speed reduced to 0 until the end of your next turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Eclipse Shroud

At 17th level, you become a master of controlling shadows and darkness. As an action, you can create an aura of magical darkness in a 15-foot radius around you for 1 minute. This area is heavily obscured to all creatures except you. You can see normally in this area, and your movement does not provoke opportunity attacks while within the aura.

Additionally, once per turn while within this aura, you can make an attack with advantage. You can use this feature once per long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 3rd level or higher to use it again.
