Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

A Profane Order which preys upon paladins who have broken an oath and any warrior who seeks redemption. They sacrifice their own well-being and sanity in order to protect those too weak to protect themselves. The Oath of Penance is a secretive rite whose followers who once worshipped illmater; but overtime they strayed from his teachings. The paladins who join the Oath are often oathbreakers, heretics, or spurned exiles; who wish to purify themselves so that they may return to the lives they once knew. Most who join the order intend to one day leave it and return to their former lives, but because of the self-loathing the rite inspires, rarely do they ever part with it.

Solitude. The path you walk is one walked alone, never seek comfort from those you travel with, nor shall you confide in them.

Sacrifice. The lives of those around you are more valuable than your own; if an innocent life is in peril, then you shall do everything to save it or die in its stead.

Struggle. The devote work tirelessly, follow in their footsteps; spend every waking moment you can helping those around you, and when there is no one in need, spend your time in prayer.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Flagellation. As an action, you strike yourself with your weapon, causing radiant energy to seep from you and protect your allies from harm. You damage yourself with a weapon attack and all friendly creatures within 30ft of you gain temporary hit points equal to the damage dealt to you plus your charisma modifier

When you make this attack, as normal you can choose to make a divine smite, the damage dealt by it will also be converted into temporary hit points.

Solem Vow. As an action, you whisper a vow of penance on behalf of you and your allies, cleansing their sins and granting them protection from damnation. All friendly creatures within 30ft of you including you take 1d4+2 radiant damage but gain a bonus equal to the damage they took and advantage on their next saving throw or attack roll. This damage cannot break concentration and does not affect a dying creature.

At 18th level, the radius of the Aura increases to 30ft.

Scarred Vigor

Beginning at 15th level, the burden of your penance has enhanced your vitality as you forsake your own well-being for others. Your maximum hit points increase by a number equal to fifteen times your charisma modifier; and for every level you gain after this, your maximum hit points are increased by an additional number equal to your charisma modifier.

Additionally, as an action you can sacrifice 10 hit points to recharge your Lay On Hands pool, and until the end of your next long rest you can use it as a bonus acrion but can no longer be used to heal yourself.

Aura of Sacrifice

At 20th level, you can dispel the protective wards around you, sending them to your allies; shielding your allies from harm at your own expense. As an action, for one hour all friendly creatures within 30ft of you gain immunity to a damage damage type of your choice, but you are vulnerable to the chosen damage type for the duration. This effect ends early if you are incapacitated or killed.

once you use this ability, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
