Intelligencers have honed their creative minds to focus on the art of spy craft. Crafting listing devices to hear record back room deals and assassination plots, artificial eyes to steal private documents, or devious devices to "convince" a suspect of confessing their crimes. Intelligencers have developed many methods to use their minds and magical prowess to hunt for useful intel that may bring a party good fortune or change the tide in a risky battle. 

Tool Proficiency

3rd-level Intelligencer feature

You gain proficiency with Tinker's Tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.

You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Intelligencer Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

The Deadliest Dance

3rd-level Intelligencer feature. 

No strike you make is without carful planning and without thought. Your attention to the dance of combat has benefitted you in the following way. 

  • When you attack with a magic weapon you have proficiency in, you can use your Intelligence modifier instead of Strength or Dexterity modifier, for the attack and damage rolls.

Echoing Arcanum

3rd-level Intelligencer feature

Your dive into the underworld has born some fruit. During a Long Rest you can now create an magical device called an Echoing Arcanum to help you gather intelligence and further you work in the underground world of secrets and plots. The Echoing Arcanum takes the form of most appropriate as you deem fit but must have some form of lens or ocular component. For example the Echoing Arcanum could take the form of a glass eye, a pair of eye glasses, a telescope or a mirror. The Echoing Arcanum is magically linked to you as long as you are within 1 mile of the device. the Echoing Arcanum has 1 hit point and you cannot benefit from the device if the Echoing Arcanum is destroyed or the magic is dispelled. If the dispel magic spell is cast on you or your access to magic is cut off, the link between you and the Echoing Arcanum  returns in 1d4 rounds after that effect has stopped. The Echoing Arcanum provides you the following benefits. 

  • As an Action you may share sense with one Echoing Arcanum, you sense through the device as though you were in the position of the Echoing Arcanum, the field of view and location are fixed to the position of the Echoing Arcanum and the lenses in it. It shares its sensory detection capabilities with your nature abilities. i.e. if you have Darkvision the Echoing Arcanum has Darkvision. It cannot sense anything that you couldn't sense with you natural senses. 
  • The Echoing Arcanum acts as a memory recorder for your mind, any sensory information that occurred within range of the Echoing Arcanum can be instantly recalled by you as though it just happened.   
  • If the Echoing Arcanum is in possession of a friendly creature you and that creature can telepathically communicate with each other. This communication is magical and can be detected by those who can sense such magical things. 
  • You may cast spells with the range of self originating from the position of the Echoing Arcanum. The Echoing Arcanum will gain the spells effects for spells cast this way. 

Extra Attack

5th-level Intelligencer feature. 

When you take the Attack action you attack twice rather then once. 

Hardened mind

5th-level Intelligencer feature 

You've seen the depth that those who cling to power and have honed your senses to the point that you can tell the strengths and weakness of someone with a simple glance.

At the start of combat before the first round begins chose one hostile creature you can see. You learn the Weaknesses and Resistances of the chosen creature. As a reaction when the chosen creature dies you may chose another hostile creature to learn the Weaknesses and Resistances of the newly chosen creature.

During combat you may use your bonus action to chose a new creature; you may do this only if there is currently no chosen creature.  

 

Echoing Arcanum Upgrade

5th-level Intelligencer feature

You have learned how to link an additional Echoing Arcanum to your sense. The number of maximum Echoing Arcanum you can link to your self increases to two. 

If you are currently sharing you senses with one Echoing Arcanum, as a Bonus Action you may change which Echoing Arcanum you a currently sharing your senses with. You cannot use the share sense action to view through both Echoing Arcanums at the same time. 

You still gain the benefit of the recorded memory of both Echoing Arcanum, meaning you have perfect recollection of all events that occur with the sensory range of both Echoing Arcanums. As long as you have one linked Echoing Arcanum you still have access to the recorded memory of both Echoing Arcanums.

Reverberating Arcanum

9th-level intelligencer feature

You've seen too much but can't turn back now. Whatever drives you now is either lost to time or still burning away at your soul. You have further perfected your surveillance and information gathering and now have gone on the offensive.

You may now craft an additional Echoing Arcanum during a Long Rest and the number of Echoing Arcanum that can be linked to you is increased to 3. Additionally, you can now cast spells with the range of touch originating from the position of the Echoing Arcanum 

Terrorizing Arcanum

15th-level Intelligencer feature

The black void has caught you staring but now its time you illuminate all of it's dark secrets and bring to light the horror of the underworld. 
You have learned to link your senses with an addition Echoing Arcanum increasing the maximum number of Echoing Arcanum you can link your senses with to four. Additionally you gain the following benefits with your Echoing Arcanum.

  • As an action you may cast a spell from your prepared spell list originating from the location of an Echoing Arcanum without expending a spell slot. If a spell is cast this way the Echoing Arcanum in which the spell was cast from is destroyed.
