Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

A druid divines their magic from the essence of nature; a wizard of the school of witchcraft boils this divine connection down into science that can be read and recorded. In order to use this magic, however, a witch must attune themselves and their spirit with the power of the seasons, and through this, can use their nature-science to control the natural magics normally locked away from them.

Science of Nature

You are able to understand and decipher natural magic in a way that enables you to record it in an arcane fashion. You can add spells from the Druid spell list to your Wizard spell book, as you would with a normal spell. This spell counts as a Wizard spell for you.

Seasonal Magic

In order for a Wizard to control natural magics, they must channel that magic through a spiritual connection with the seasons. When you finish a long rest, choose a season: Summer, Autumn, Winter, or Spring. Your choice grants you abilities at certain Wizard levels, and enhanced spellcasting capabilities.

When you prepare spells allowed by a season, if you change that season you can no longer have those spells prepared.

Summer
As the season of flourishing power and hot weather, attuning to the season of Summer grants you powerful fire spells and abilities.

  • You can prepare any Druid spell that deals fire damage as if it were in your Spell Book.
  • You know the control flames and produce flame cantrips.

Autumn
As the season of decay in preparation for rebirth, attuning to the season of Autumn grants you unique entropic abilities.

  • Your spells and cantrips deal extra damage to plants and conjured creatures (such as the conjure animals spell). This damage equals your Wizard level + your Intelligence modifier.
  • You know the infestation cantrip.

Winter
The season of the chill and cold and wrath of nature, attuning to the season of Winter grants you unique frost abilities.

  • You can prepare any Druid spell that deals cold damage as if it were in your Spell Book.
  • You know the frostbite and gust cantrips.

Spring
The season of growth and life, attuning to the season of Spring grants you unique creation abilities.

  • You can prepare any Druid spell that grants healing as if it were in your Spell Book.
  • You know the shillelagh and druidcraft cantrips.

Natural Seasons

While a witch can channel the power of any of the seasons, attuning to a season while experiencing the natural power of that season grants enhanced capabilities. When you attune to a season while in the climate of that season, you gain the following Natural Season benefits:

Summer
When you cast a spell that deals fire damage, you may reroll any 1s or 2s on any damage dice rolled. Additionally, you have resistance to fire damage and cannot be harmed by hot weather.

Autumn
When you cast a spell that deals necrotic damage, if it involves an attack roll you have advantage, if it involves a saving throw, one of the targets (your choice) has disadvantage.

Winter
When you cast a spell that deals cold damage, you may reroll any 1s or 2s on any damage dice rolled. Additionally, you have resistance to cold damage and cannot be harmed by cold weather.

Spring
When you cast a spell that restores hit points, you may reroll any 1s or 2s on any healing dice rolled.

Natural Decoding

When you copy a Druid spell to your Wizard spell book, the time and cost to copy is halved. Additionally, you have the ability to analyse a Druid spell you have seen cast and learn it for yourself. As a reaction when a Druid spell is cast within sight, you can make a Spellcasting Ability Check of a DC of 10 + the spell's level. On a success, you can copy the spell to your spell book, provided you do so within 24 hours.

Seasonal Mastery

You have learned to pull magic from seasons to which you are not attuned. When you finish a long rest, you choose a primary season and a secondary season. You gain all benefits of your primary season, and any spells granted by your secondary season (with no additional effects).
