Disciple of the Black Cleaver

The Black Cleaver Sect belongs to the single-strike sword family, a martial philosophy that focuses on delivering singular, devastating blows. The origins of the Black Cleaver Sect trace back beyond its own records, and it has produced a number of powerful students, both on the path of light and the path of darkness.

Focus

Disciples of the Black Cleaver hone their Focus to an incredible degree, granting a bonus to their unarmored AC equal to their Wisdom modifier.

While raging, you can choose to enter a Focused Rage. During a Focused Rage, your Reckless Attack feature operates differently. Rather than imposing advantage on attack rolls, the Reckless Attack feature allows you to add your Wisdom modifier to attack and damage rolls, though it removes your Wisdom modifier from your AC.

Honed Striked

Beginning at 6th level, Disciples of the Black Cleaver can prep themselves to deliver finishing moves. The Disciple of the Black Cleaver foregoes their first attack, allowing them to add their wisdom modifier to attack and damage rolls. If this attack beats the opposing AC by 8 or more, it becomes a critical hit.

Flash Focus

Beginning at 10th level, your Focus sharpens further. You may use an action to expend a use of Rage to cut through a charm or illusion within 20 feet affecting you or an ally. You may cut through an entire illusion spell this way as long as the spell itself is continuous, but you must cut through instances of charm individually, expending a charge of Rage for each effect ended this way. You do not need to know an illusion is present to use Flash Focus.

Unshakeable

Starting at 14th level, when you take damage on your turn, you may use your reaction to become Unshakeable. For every 5 points of damage taken since Unshakeable is activated, you gain an additional 1d8 damage die added to the first attack of your next turn. While Unshakeable, you cannot be moved against your will.
