Base Class: Rogue
harness the power of the arcane to aid you in both sneak attacks and opening safes as if they were merely doors without locks.
Nimble Fingers
Starting at 3rd level, you can use the bonus action at the start of each turn to either dodge an attack, go into stealth, use your thieve's tools, or cast a spell.
Fleet-footed Movement
all those years of practice pay off nicely when traversing your environment.
Shadow-Sharpened Senses
you have become attuned to the darkness. it is now your ally.
Versatile armament
By 13th level, you have learned enough about your field of work to no longer require training in the use of anything you come across. you're just damn good at everything.
Cheeky Sneaky
When you reach 17th level, you are quite adept at sneak attacks and laying traps. assassinations are second nature to you.

Posted Dec 17, 2023I was thinking about potentially using this in a future campaign, but I am a bit confused about the Shadow-Sharpened Senses feature and was hoping that maybe I can get some clarification. How exactly would the darkness act as my ally? Could you potentially provide me with the stat block? Will the darkness fight for me, or will it only perform mundane tasks? Is the darkness controlled by me or by the DM?

Posted Mar 24, 2023Rogues can already dodge or hide as a bonus action, being able to use Thieves' Tools as a bonus is pretty weak, so the only way Nimble Fingers could be powerful is with cast a spell. However, rogues don't have spells. There are multiple ways to interpret, pretty much none of which are good.
1) Rogues need to get spells from somewhere else. This makes it very weak.
2) This allows rogues to learn some spells. This could be okay, but it is way, way too vague in that case.
3) While using that ability, the rogue can cast any spell. This is extremely overpowered.
