Base Class: Blood Hunter
Vampirism, the shadow curse, is feared by nearly all peoples and cultures, passed through a bite and causing a ravenous hunger sated only by blood. The Order of the Nightwalker is a secretive group of blood hunters who harness the "Turning " — the biting, burial, and controlled resurrection of a vampire spawn. These hunters then use the magic of their blood to restore the mind and soul of their companion, saving them from a grisly fate. Using intense will and secret blood magic rituals, members of the Order of the Nightwalker learn to control and unleash their vampiric forms for short periods of time. Enhanced beauty, unnatural resilience, and long fangs make these warriors a terrible foe to any evil that crosses their path. Yet no training is perfect, and without care and complete focus, even the greatest of blood hunters can temporarily lose themselves to their own hunger.
Nightstalker
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain the ability to stalk your prey almost effortlessly in the darkness. You have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made when you are in dim light or darkness.
Vampiric Transformation
Also at 3rd level, you learn to control the curse that courses through your veins. As a bonus action, you can manifest vampiric traits for up to 1 hour. You can revert to your normal form as a bonus action. You automatically revert to your normal form if you fall unconscious or die.
This feature replaces the rules for vampirism in the Monster Manual. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.
In the Character Builder, set the option for Vampiric Transformation to Vampiric Form to activate the bonuses for that form on the character sheet.
Vampiric Form
Selecting this option has updated the character sheet with the features of your Hybrid Form.
Vampiric Transformation Features
While you are transformed, you gain the following benefits and drawbacks:
Inhuman Beauty. You have advantage on Charisma checks and Charisma saving throws, and you have a +1 bonus to melee damage rolls. This bonus increases to +2 at 11th level and to +3 at 18th level.
Undead Flesh. You have resistance to necrotic damage. Additionally, you have advantage on saving throws to resist contracting diseases or being poisoned.
Bite. You develop two fangs, which count as a melee natural weapon for you. You can apply your Crimson Rite feature to this natural weapon, and can use Constitution for the attack and damage rolls of this natural weapon, which deal 1d6 piercing damage. When you use the Attack action to make a melee weapon attack, you can make one additional attack with your Bite as a bonus action. This damage increases to 1d8 at 11th level.
Bloodthirst. If you cross a stream of running water, take radiant damage, or take any damage in sunlight, you must succeed on a DC 8 Wisdom saving throw or use your reaction to move directly toward the nearest creature and use your Bite attack against that creature. If more than one creature is equally near to you, roll randomly to determine your target. Once your attack is resolved, you regain control of yourself.
