Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Iron Feather have mastered the art of manipulating their own weight, allowing them to perform astonishing feats of agility and power. These monks can become as light as a feather to dance across the battlefield or as heavy as iron to crush their enemies.
Feather Step and Iron Fist
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you learn how to harness your weight and momentum, using them to your advantage whether in or out of combat.
Feather Step. You can use your movement to run along walls or ceilings without falling, provided you end your movement on a solid surface on the ground. When you use Step of the Wind, you can also move through the air as if it were solid ground, up to a distance equal to your unarmored movement speed.
Iron Fist. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or monk weapon, you can spend 1 ki point to increase your weight and force, dealing an additional 1d8 bludgeoning damage. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your ki save DC or be knocked prone.
Aerial Acrobatics
Your mastery of weight manipulation enhances your agility. You gain advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks. Additionally, when you use your Patient Defense or Step of the Wind, you gain a fly speed equal to your walking speed until the end of your next turn.
Crushing Descent
At 11th level, you've learned to master and weaponize your own gravitational momentum. When you fall at least 10 feet, you can use your reaction to spend a ki point and dramatically increase your weight and crash into the ground or a target below. If you target a creature, it must make a Dexterity saving throw against your ki save DC. On a failed save, the creature takes 4d10 bludgeoning damage and is knocked prone. On a successful save, it takes half damage and isn't knocked prone. You take no falling damage when using this ability, and can use it even on your turn.
Gravity Mastery
You can manipulate your weight with supreme control. As an action, you can spend 4 ki points to gain the following benefits for 1 minute:
- You have a fly speed equal to your walking speed.
- You can move through the air or along vertical surfaces without falling.
- You can increase your weight to deal extra damage. Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or monk weapon, you deal an additional 2d10 bludgeoning damage and the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your ki save DC or be knocked prone.
- You can use Feather Step and Crushing Descent without spending ki points.
