Base Class: Rogue
As a Vindex, you serve a temple in furthering its goal through stealth, subterfuge, and assassination. Most temples Vindex orders are completely unknown to the public, outside of the stray rumor, and those few who do know of the order are wise enough to stay silent about it. Many Vindeces will serve only one member of a church or temple to prevent the spread of information to those who do not, or should not, know. These rogues are taught a small selection of spells to enhance their abilities and allow previously impossible tasks to be achieved with their faith alone.
Spellcasting
When you reach 3rd level, you gain the ability to cast spells from the cleric list, and gain the Thaumaturgy cantrip.
Minor Miracle
Starting at 3rd level, when you cast Thaumaturgy, you can have up to four of its 1-minute effects active at a time, and you can perform the following additional tasks or effects with it:
- You can make the air around a creature uncomfortably hot or cold for 1 minute.
- You can dampen any sound made by your actions for 1 minute.
- You can use it as a set of thieves’ tools to pick locks and disarm traps at range.
You can also cast this cantrip as a bonus action.
Coercion from the Faithful
Starting at 9th level, you can add your Wisdom Modifier to your Intimidation, Persuasion, and Deception checks. You also gain advantage on the aforementioned checks while you or the target are under the effects of the Thaumaturgy cantrip.
Vindicative Ire
By 13th level, you have learned the holy signature of your Thaumaturgy cantrip, and can use your Sneak Attack on a creature that is affected by it. A creature affected by your Thaumaturgy cantrip always triggers opportunity attacks, even when their movement is forced.
Holy Driver
When you reach 17th level, you drive divine power into those who have earned your ire. A creature under the effects of your Thaumaturgy cantrip, when struck with your Sneak Attack, explodes in a 10 foot radius, dealing 8d6 radiant damage.
