Gumshoe

Not every detective is a suave mastermind, or an undetectable agent. The Gumshoe is a private eye with an eye for clues and an unending determination. You find the evidence no one wants you to find, and when they try to snuff your for it you send them packing.

Bonus Proficiency

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in  Investigation and Insight. If you are already proficient in one or more of these skills you may instead learn an additional language for each skill.

Moxie

Starting at 3rd level, Your headstrong detective work manifests through your Moxie. You gain an additional resource called Moxie. Moxie points are earned and spent through bonus actions listed below. You start each day with an amount of moxie equal to your proficiency bonus. You can gain and keep Moxie over this amount but any amount over it are lost at the end of each long rest.

Moxie

As a bonus action on you turn you may:

• Make a single unarmed melee attack. Your unarmed melee damage is a d4 for this attack unless it is already higher. If this attack hits a hostile creature you gain one Moxie
• Make a Wisdom (Insight) check opposed by  a hostile creatures Charisma (Deception) check. If you succeed that creature has disadvantage on its next attack roll unless it attacks you. Gain one Moxie
• Open yourself up to an attack, and give the next attack against you from a hostile creature advantage. If a hostile creature attacks you before your next turn gain two Moxie.
• You may spend two Moxie to make a Wisdom (Insight) check opposed by  a hostile creatures Charisma (Deception) check. If you succeed you can choose to learn that creatures resistances or its highest stat.
• You may spend one Moxie to gain resistance to the next damage you take
• You may spend one Moxie to move up to half your movement speed
• You may spend 3 Moxie to make an additional weapon attack.

 

Private Eye

Starting at 7th level, When you spend thirty minutes investigating an area or location, you may add a bonus to your Intelligence (Investigation), or Wisdom (Perception) checks pertaining to that area or location equal to your fighter level.

In addition when you spend ten minutes interrogating someone , you may add a bonus to your Wisdom (Insight) rolls pertaining to that person equal to your fighter level.

 

Dauntless

Starting at 10th level, when you roll initiative you may immediately move up to your movement speed and make a Wisdom (Insight), Intelligence (Investigation) or Wisdom (Perception) check against a creature, object, area etc. of your choice.

You gain advantage on saving throws against being charmed and frightened as well as saving throws to end these conditions. In addition, conditions can no longer prevent you from taking bonus actions.

Cut of your Jib

Starting at 15th level, You gain additional ways to earn and spend Moxie

Once per short rest when you take damage you can use your reaction to gain an amount of Moxie equal to your fighter level.

When making an ability check that adds your proficiency bonus you may spend up to three Moxie, increasing the result of your roll by 1 for each Moxie spent.

You also gain the following bonus actions you added to your list of Moxie abilities

• You may spend 2 Moxie to ready yourself. You gain an additional reaction until the start of your next turn.
• You may spend any amount of Moxie less than or equal to your fighter level. You regain 5 hit points for reach spent Moxie. You may only use this ability once per long rest.
• You may spend 5 Moxie. For the next minute, or until the next time you land a critical hit, you score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20

Best of the Best

Starting at 18th level If you take damage that reduces you to 0 hit points and doesn’t kill you outright, you instead fall to one hit point and gain temporary hit points equal to your maximum hit points.

In addition, whenever you use your Action Surge you gain 5 Moxie and an additional bonus action.
