Bard
Base Class: Bard

From the gentle whisper of a breeze to the fierce howling of a storm, bards of the College of Windspeakers live in tune with the subtle music present all around them. Within the wind, they make out melodies, and with their signature woodwind instruments, they emulate them.

The College of Windspeakers is a favored path among bards of the Acamonian Empire, whose instruments are said to be the only ones capable of piercing and calming the howling gales that batter the nation’s landscape.

Wondrous Winds

Beginning when you choose this College at 3rd level, you’ve learnt how to use your bardic magic to influence the winds around you. While using a woodwind instrument—such as a flute, ocarina, or pan flute—as your spellcasting focus, you double the range of your Bardic Inspiration feature as well as that of any bard spell you cast that only has verbal components. Moreover, you gain the following uses for your Bardic Inspiration dice:

Buffet. A creature with one of your Bardic Inspiration dice can expend and roll it to gain a number of temporary hit points equal to the result of the roll. Moreover, until the beginning of its next turn, all ranged attacks made against it are made with disadvantage.

Soar. A creature with one of your Bardic Inspiration dice can expend it to gain a flying speed equal to its walking speed until the end of its current turn. If the creature is still aloft at the end of its turn, it floats gently down to the ground.

Windspeaker Magic

Also at 3rd level, you learn the gust cantrip if you don’t already know it, and can cast it as a bonus action. Moreover, you learn an additional spell of 1st level or higher when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Windspeaker Spells table. Each spell counts as a bard spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of bard spells you know.

Carried on the Wind

At 6th level, your magic is as one with the winds. While using a woodwind instrument as a spellcasting focus, you can treat the somatic components of spells you cast as verbal components. In addition, you cannot lose concentration on any of your Windspeaker Magic spells as a result of taking damage.

Conductor of Tempests

At 14th level, your control of even the fiercest of tempests is second to none. You learn the investiture of wind spell, which counts as a bard spell for you. Your concentration on this spell cannot be lost as a result of taking damage. You can cast this spell once per long rest without expending a spell slot, or by using your spell slots as normal.
